First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Airliner Apartment on Strada Traian Vuia, I’ll be honest — the building doesn’t scream impressive from the outside. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you. This four-star apartment sits on the third floor of what feels like a well-maintained residential building, and there’s something refreshingly authentic about staying where locals actually live. The fact that there’s parking right on site was already winning me over before I even got inside.

Here’s the thing about Cluj-Napoca — location is everything, and this place absolutely nails it. I mean, couples are rating the location 9.6 out of 10, which honestly makes perfect sense once you’re here. You’re close enough to the city center that you can walk to the main attractions, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds right outside your window. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel that I actually prefer to staying in some sterile hotel district.

The Space Itself

Walking into the room, I was genuinely impressed by how thoughtfully everything was set up. The kitchen isn’t just some token kitchenette — it’s actually functional, which is rare in apartment rentals. You can tell someone put real thought into making this feel like a temporary home rather than just a place to crash. The furnishings strike that sweet spot between modern and comfortable, and there’s enough space that you’re not tripping over your luggage every time you move around.

What Actually Matters

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places that look great in photos but fall apart in the details. This isn’t one of them. The Wi-Fi actually works (shocking, I know), the shower has proper water pressure, and the bed is comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with it all night. These might sound like basic things, but you’d be surprised how many places get them wrong. Plus, having that private parking spot means you’re not circling the block for twenty minutes trying to find somewhere to leave your car.

That 9.6 rating isn’t just a number — it reflects what happens when someone gets the fundamentals right and then adds those little touches that make a difference. The location gives you the best of both worlds, the space actually functions like a real apartment, and you’re not paying inflated prices for a fancy lobby you’ll never use. It’s the kind of place where couples can actually relax and enjoy each other’s company without feeling like they’re living in a hotel room. Sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that just work well, without trying too hard to impress you.

  The location not too far from the airport (although it’s still a bit of a walk). A bit tacky but overall very functional.
  
  What could be improved: The confusing/poor directions to enter the building and the apartment and zero customer focus.
  It’s a self check-in studio and the directions tell to push for 3 seconds a so called “Cipotel” button, which nobody knows what that means (if it’s a Romanian word it’s not on Google Translate). I tried all possible buttons for 3 seconds but didn’t work. It was past midnight and the property is available to be contacted only until 10 pm. I therefore had no idea how to get in. Luckily a French couple came out of the building and told me what the button was and pressed it for much more than 3 seconds. I could finally enter the code and get in the building. Then once in front of the apartment I opened the lockbox but there’s more than one lock. Of course the property doesn’t bother to specify which is the right lock. Luckily again the French couple was staying in a nearby apartment and they showed me which lock it was. By the time I got into the apartment it was about 1 am. I sent a message to the property asking them to allow me to check out half an hour later (at 11 am instead of 10:30 am) and not only did they ignore my request but they sent me a message asking to be alerted in case I could check out earlier than 10:30. Just zero customer focus.
  Also what I found really annoying is the manipulative message “if you enjoyed the stay please leave a positive rating” which could lead people to leave positive ratings only. I’ll never deal with these people again.

  A szállás közel volt a reptérhez, így a kilátás is nagyon jó volt, de mégsem volt zaj. A szállás rendkívül tiszta volt, minden elő volt készítve, ami kellhetett. A fagyasztóban volt előre jég, ami a meleg napon nagyon jól jött. Kiváló volt a videó a szállás megtalálásához is!
