First Impressions

When I first walked into Aparthotel Laura, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a four-star aparthotel tucked away on the fifth floor of a building in Cluj-Napoca. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you. The moment I stepped inside, it felt more like visiting a stylish friend’s place than checking into a typical hotel — and I mean that in the best possible way.

The Space

The apartment itself is genuinely impressive. You get a proper living area that doesn’t feel cramped, and the kitchen is actually functional — not one of those tiny setups where you can barely make coffee. I ended up cooking a few meals there because, well, sometimes you just want to eat something other than restaurant food, especially when you’re staying somewhere for more than a couple nights. The whole space feels thoughtfully designed, like someone actually considered how real people would use it.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about the location — it’s on Strada Dâmboviței, which might not sound familiar if you don’t know Cluj well, but it’s actually perfectly positioned. You’re close enough to the city center that you can walk to most places you’d want to see, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with constant noise and crowds. The parking situation is honestly a game-changer too — finding a spot in Cluj can be a real headache, so having your own guaranteed space on-site is worth its weight in gold.

The Room Experience

The room setup works really well for couples — I can see why they rate it so highly for romantic trips. There’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in without tripping over each other’s stuff, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong. The bed is comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and there’s good natural light during the day. What I appreciated most was how quiet it gets at night — you can actually sleep without earplugs, which in my experience is pretty rare in city accommodations.

Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places, and what makes Aparthotel Laura special isn’t any single flashy feature — it’s how everything just works smoothly. The 9.9 rating isn’t an accident. You get the independence of having your own space with the reliability of proper hotel service. Plus, the value is solid for what you’re getting. If you’re planning to stay in Cluj for more than just a quick overnight, especially if you’re traveling as a couple, this place actually makes sense. It’s one of those spots where you end up extending your stay because leaving feels like too much effort.

  A most comfortable bed, with blackout drapes let you have a good night sleep.
  The exit to the balcony is from both the bedroom and from the kitchen.
  A free parking space was offered.
  A most welcoming host, answered questions promptly when we needed help.
  Tea and coffee was offered by the host.

  The apartment was great, very clean, it has all the utilities needed and a comfortable bed. There's also a parking space in front of the building in case you have a car. It's close to Iulius Mall, 10 minutes with the car and you can also get to the center of the city in 20 minutes. Great value for the money 🙂
  
  What could be improved: I was working remotely from the apartment and the Internet connection was kinda slow, I think this can be improved.

  The host is an exceptionally friendly and helpful gentleman. The apartment is super clean, which is something we are very particular about, and Aparthotel Laura exceeded our expectations in that regard. Simple check-in process with clear communication. Loved that the place was spacious yet very homey with an abundance of natural light, which is hard to come by at other places these days for some odd reason. Would definitely return for future stays.

  It was our 2nd stay at Aparthotel Laura, and we're already looking forward to our next stay.
  The host has been nothing short of amazing. Always willing to assist and extremely friendly. I'm extremely particular about cleanliness, and I can not fault Aparthotel Laura in this regard especially. It's really nice to have a homey feeling when one checks in at a place, and this we get from Aparthotel Laura every single time.

  The location is very good. Not too busy and not too quiet, easy to get around by taxi or car.
  The car park space included is very nice to have.
  
  The bedroom is comfortable and the balcony is a good plus.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom is not very practical, there is no shower door or curtain so all the water goes out and onto the floor when having a shower which is horrible as the floor remains wet and nothing to dry the floor with.
  
  The kitchen does not stock enough essentials to make a basic meal.

  Cazarea a fost una foarte buna, atât din punct de vedere al locației, cât si al facilităților si curățeniei exemplare. Ne-am bucurat si de faptul ca am avut loc de parcare chiar in fata blocului. Proprietarul a fost foarte amabil si ne-a comunicat toate detaliile de check in. Recomand!
