Camino Home 2 Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Camino Home 2 on Strada Samuil Micu, you’d almost miss it if you weren’t looking — and that’s honestly part of its charm. This four-star property feels more like stepping into someone’s incredibly well-designed apartment than checking into a traditional hotel. The building itself has that classic Romanian architecture you see throughout Cluj-Napoca‘s quieter residential streets, but once you’re inside, it’s clear they’ve put serious thought into every detail.
Location & Getting Around
You know what I really appreciated? The location strikes this perfect balance between being close enough to everything but far enough from the tourist crowds. You’re about a 10-minute walk to the old town center, which means you can actually sleep at night without hearing drunk groups wandering the cobblestones. The street is lined with local cafés and small shops that most visitors never discover — I grabbed my morning coffee from this tiny place two doors down that made the best espresso I had in Romania.
The Space
Each room here feels like a mini studio apartment, which makes sense given the property’s residential vibe. The kitchen setup is actually functional — not just a sad mini-fridge and a microwave, but real counter space and proper appliances. I ended up cooking breakfast a few mornings because the local market on Piața Cipariu (just a short walk away) had incredible fresh produce and Romanian cheeses I wanted to try. The beds are surprisingly comfortable too, and the bathrooms have this modern, almost Scandinavian feel that works really well.
What Sets It Apart
Here’s the thing about Camino Home 2 — it doesn’t try to be flashy or impress you with a grand lobby or fancy restaurant. Instead, it focuses on making your stay feel natural and unforced. The staff genuinely knows Cluj-Napoca well and can point you toward places locals actually go, not just the standard tourist spots. They helped me find this amazing traditional Romanian place in Mănăștur that I never would have discovered otherwise. There’s also secure parking available, which honestly saved me a lot of stress since Cluj’s old town streets can be pretty narrow.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.6 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here — it’s the kind of place that gets the fundamentals absolutely right without any unnecessary complications. You’ve got reliable WiFi, truly hot water, and a level of cleanliness that’s honestly rare in this price range. But more than that, staying here feels like you’re experiencing Cluj-Napoca the way locals do, not as some outsider passing through. I mean, by my third day, I was chatting with neighbors and felt like I actually belonged in this part of the city rather than just visiting it.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Cluj-Napoca around Centru for artisan bistros, vintage shops, and leafy boulevards.

– nice boutique hotel
What could be improved: – in front of the boutique there is a coffee-bar and during the first night they had a mini party with unpleasant music (manele). Other than this, everything was great.Exceptional – Nina from Cyprus – August 6, 2025 (10/10)
Very convenient, comfortable, and excellent value!
Our stay at Camino 2 was truly pleasant. Communication with the host was excellent — they sent all the check-in details directly to my personal WhatsApp, which made everything easy. You don’t even need a key for your room — instead, you receive a personal code, so you can check in at any time.
The room was very clean, spacious, and nicely decorated, with a kitchenette equipped with everything you might need: plates, mugs, glasses, complimentary water, coffee, tea, and even a mini-bar. There’s also an ironing board, air conditioning, and a very clean bathroom with a spacious shower. The bed was extremely comfortable, making for a great night’s sleep.
The location is really good — close to the very center but on a quiet street, which we loved. There’s paid parking outside (free from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.), so if you arrive in the evening, you can leave your car overnight for free. Plenty of nice places to eat are nearby, and we found a real gem — Ruma Gastro Cocktail Bar, which was a pleasant surprise and added to the experience of our stay.
Overall, an excellent choice for Cluj-Napoca. Highly recommended! If we return, we will definitely stay here again.Always a pleasure to come Back at Camino Home 2 … feels like home. – Georgiana from Romania – August 1, 2025 (10/10)

The apartment is spacious and well furnished.
