I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical climbing those stairs — but that’s exactly what makes this place such a pleasant surprise. Once you’re inside, you realize you’ve found something special in Cluj-Napoca.

Location & Getting Around

The location is actually pretty smart if you know the city. You’re in a residential area that feels authentically Romanian, but you can still walk to the old town in about fifteen minutes. There’s parking available (which, trust me, you’ll appreciate if you’re driving in Cluj), and the neighborhood has that lived-in feel where you’ll see locals going about their daily routines. The tram stops nearby, so getting around is straightforward once you figure out the system.

The Space

What struck me most was how thoughtfully designed everything feels for a four-star place. Each room has this clean, modern aesthetic without being sterile — there’s actually personality here. The beds are properly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathrooms are well-appointed with good water pressure. You know what I really appreciated? The windows are large enough that you get plenty of natural light, which makes the space feel bigger than it is.

What Makes It Work

Andreea herself — the owner — runs this place with genuine care, and it shows in the details. The Wi-Fi actually works well (I had video calls without issues), and everything feels clean without that overwhelming bleach smell some places have. The common areas have this welcoming vibe where you might actually want to spend time, not just pass through. I mean, with a 9.7 rating, they’re clearly doing something right, but it’s the small touches that make the difference.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Cluj-Napoca has plenty of accommodation options, but this one gets the balance right between being personal and professional. You’re not staying in some corporate chain where everything feels identical — this has character. The value is solid for what you get, especially considering how well-maintained everything is. If you want to experience Cluj like you’re staying with a local friend who happens to run a really nice guesthouse, this is your spot.

    I booked this apartment for a 12-night stay with my Polish partner, and we were satisfied by the quality of the services. The host was prompt and reached out a day before check-in with all the necessary details, including photos. The parking is in a secure underground area in the apartment building, and the door can be opened by the host from a phone app. The parking spot is included in the price, which is a great advantage. Checking-in was seamless, thanks to a lock box system for the key.

    Upon arrival, we were greeted by a cozy and inviting apartment. Upon entering, you are met with a fully equiped kitchen and two doors, one that leads to a small bathroom and one to the main room. We were pleasantly surprised to find such cleanliness, I could not find even a speck of dust. We were impressed! The host’s communication was excellent throughout our stay, always responding promptly to any questions or requests.

    The apartment is thoughtfully equipped for a longer stay, providing everything that you could possibly need. It includes kitchenware, a spacious fridge with a good-sized freezer, a washing machine, drying rack for clothes, air conditioning, stovetop, oven, clean towels, consumables, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, hairdryer, vacuum cleaner, even bottles of shampoo for both men and women. We were truly satisfied in that regard. Also, we had spices and ingredients that we could use while cooking. If anything were to be missing, the host was always ready to assist. If the weather permits, you can also enjoy your coffee in the mornings on the balcony.

    The WiFi is fantastic! You have access to two networks with excellent connection speed, even suitable for gaming. The apartment also features a decently sized table with two double outlets nearby, making it perfect for working or dining.

    Overall, we were incredibly satisfied with our stay and would highly recommend this apartment. It’s clear that the host goes above and beyond to make guests feel at home!

    What could be improved: The parking, while secure, felt a bit cramped. Additionally, while exiting the garage is simple with the press of a switch, re-entering requires contacting the host to open the door remotely. This can be a bit inconvenient, especially when returning late at night. It may feel uncomfortable to disturb the host with a phone call at late hours.

    The main room is a decent size; however, the kitchen and bathroom felt a bit smaller than anticipated and appeared larger in the photos. While this wasn’t a major issue, it’s something to keep in mind.

    We would have appreciated having outlets next to the bed, as charging devices in other areas was somewhat inconvenient. Another aspect that could be improved is the addition of day curtains. Being close to neighboring apartment buildings, it felt a bit uncomfortable leaving the curtains open during the day, as it limited our privacy.

    Lastly, we were surprised by the lack of a sustainable or eco-friendly option for disposing of used cooking oil. We were instructed to pour it down the sink, which didn’t feel environmentally responsible. Instead, we collected the oil in a plastic bottle and took it to a pick-up spot for recycling. Providing guests with a proper disposal option would be a welcome improvement.

    While these were minor inconveniences, addressing them could make the stay even more comfortable and enjoyable for future guests. We still highly recommend the apartment. It offers a comfortable stay with excellent amenities, and the host's attentiveness truly stands out.

    The location was spot on. The apartament is really close to both Iulius mall as well as the lake in Iulius park. The apartment is close to the airport and the walk to the old town is not too long either (45min). The block is quiet and the area safe. The apartment itself is cozy and is equipped with everything that is needed for a stay. The hosts are amazing! For a couple on a short stay the place is adequately sized.

    What could be improved: Couldn't find anything wrong with the flat itself. The block itself is going through some renovation work, but that is not something the owners of the apartment can control.

    The apartment is perfect for a couple or a solo traveller, the price was excellent, I collected the keys from a lock box , the room had everything, WIFI, washing machine, towels , balcony, full equipped kitchen with washing up liquid and washing powder, i needed nothing, also the host checked in with me via WhatsApp to make sure i had everything which was a nice touch, the host also didn't rush me out of the apartment and let me leave at 3pm which was great has i had a late flight and didit want to walk around with my bag all day
