First Impressions

Walking up to Cluj Center 2 on Strada Godeanu, you’ll notice it’s tucked away on a quieter street — which honestly turned out to be one of my favorite things about this place. The building has that understated elegance you find in well-renovated properties throughout Cluj-Napoca, nothing flashy but clearly well-maintained. It’s a four-star property that doesn’t try too hard to impress you at first glance, but once you’re inside, you start to appreciate the attention to detail.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I mean about the location being special — you’re literally a five-minute walk from the main square, but you’re not dealing with the noise and chaos that comes with being right in the thick of things. I could easily stroll to the Gothic St. Michael’s Church or grab coffee on Eroilor Boulevard without feeling like I was staying in a tourist trap. The parking situation is actually manageable here too, which anyone who’s driven through Cluj’s old center will tell you is no small feat. You know what really sold me? Being able to walk back from dinner without navigating crowds of people — there’s something to be said for that.

The Room Experience

My room was larger than I expected, honestly — these older buildings in Cluj sometimes surprise you with their generous proportions. The furnishings felt modern without being sterile, and I appreciated that they’d kept some character in the space rather than going for that generic hotel look. The bathroom was well-appointed, and the shower pressure was excellent (you never know what you’re going to get in this part of Europe). What really stood out was how quiet everything was at night — I mean, you’re in the city center but you’d hardly know it once you close the windows.

Amenities & Service

The staff here actually knows the neighborhood, which makes a huge difference when you’re trying to figure out where to eat or what to see. They pointed me toward a fantastic traditional Romanian restaurant that I never would have found on my own — one of those places where locals go, not just tourists. The hotel doesn’t have a full spa, but they’ve got the essentials covered and everything works as it should. I found myself spending time in the common areas, which felt comfortable rather than formal — sort of like being in a well-designed friend’s place rather than a hotel lobby.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Cluj Center 2 gets the balance right between being central and being peaceful. You’re close enough to everything that matters — the university area, the best restaurants, the cultural sites — but you’re not paying the premium or dealing with the hassles of being right on the main drag. The property has that 8.9 rating for good reason; it’s the kind of place that doesn’t oversell itself but delivers on what it promises. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having a comfortable base that’s both accessible and private — you can explore the city during the day and retreat to somewhere genuinely restful at night.

  I really loved this place. It was clean and had a lot of light in the room. Cozy and has everything you might need :). Felt way better to stay here than in a hotel. It also has a garden. The hosts were also nice, allowed me to check in faster.

  Location was quiet, easy to find and flawless check-in. Location is a few minutes away from the bus stop and there's a supermarket nearby for stuff. There's coffee or tea provided in the room, with microwave and coffee maker as well as TV if you want to just chill and watch Netflix

  Great reception at the property, feels very welcoming. Despite being in a such a densely populated area, is very quiet and relaxing. If you fancy shopping, craving something delicious, or maybe just want to watch a movie, a 10 minute walk will get you to one of the biggest shopping centres in the Romania.

  I really appreciated that the host was awake for me at 1.00 am when I arrived. I found everything that was announced to be available upon arrival, even coffee, and tea. I felt very comfortable and the place is almost perfect for one person. Everything was very clean and the breakfast on the terrace was very pleasant. I had wifi service available but I didn't use it, I didn't need it.
  
  What could be improved: The room is small and there is no wardrobe or chest of drawers. Also, there is only one double bed against the wall and this arrangement is not so comfortable for two people, even if they are a couple.
  Also, the refrigerator is quite noisy and I found the solution to set the thermostat to a minimum during the night (I didn't open it anyway). In this way, the noise did not wake me up all night.
