I mean, you get the best of both worlds without the noise that comes with staying right in the center.

The Room Experience

My room had this cozy, traditional Romanian feel with wooden furniture and warm colors that actually worked really well together. The beds are comfortable — not the firmest I’ve experienced, but definitely good enough for a solid night’s sleep after walking around the city all day. What impressed me most was how clean everything was and the attention to small details, like having a decent coffee setup and blackout curtains that actually block out the morning light.

The on-site restaurant serves traditional Romanian dishes, and honestly, this is where the place really shines. I had some of the best mici (grilled meat rolls) I’ve tried in Romania, and the staff seemed genuinely proud of their local cuisine. The dining area has this warm, tavern-like atmosphere that matches the hotel’s outlaw theme without being cheesy about it. Breakfast isn’t fancy, but it’s hearty and includes local specialties you won’t find at international chain hotels.

  We had a great time at Crama Haiducilor in Cluj. the three bedroom suite was perfect for our family of five! the staff was very welcoming and the service was exceptional. The location is not very close to downtown but it is walkable. We’ll choose it again next time!

  What could be improved: The carpet was dirty. The room clearly needed a refresh. The temperature in the room was set to about 20 C. There was a large and noisy flock of pigeons that lived outside the room (separated by a blocked window). The breakfast was expensive.
