First Impressions

Evo Residence Horea sits on one of Cluj-Napoca’s most charming historic streets, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better. When I first walked up to the building on Strada Horea, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from a four-star property tucked into what looks like a renovated historical building. The entrance is understated — you’ll find it on the second floor, which actually adds to the intimate, residential feel of the place.

The Space & Style

What strikes you immediately is how they’ve managed to blend modern comfort with the character of old Cluj. Each apartment feels more like a stylish city flat than a typical hotel room, which is exactly what you want when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two. The kitchen setup is genuinely useful — not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation, but actual cooking space if you want to grab some fresh produce from the nearby Piața Centrală.

Location Perks

Here’s what I really appreciate about staying here: you’re walking distance from everything that matters in Cluj, but you’re not dealing with the noise of the main tourist drag. The old town center is literally a five-minute stroll, and you can easily walk to the Botanical Garden when you need some green space. There’s decent parking nearby too, which anyone who’s driven in Romanian city centers will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

Practical Comfort

The 8.5 rating makes sense once you settle in — everything works the way it should, the Wi-Fi is solid, and the beds are actually comfortable (not always a given, you know?). I mean, it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top, but there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on getting the basics really right. The bathrooms are modern and well-designed, and you’ll find thoughtful touches like good lighting and enough outlets where you actually need them.

Why Guests Love It

What really sells this place is the independence it gives you — you get hotel-level service and cleanliness, but with the freedom of having your own space to spread out. For families or anyone staying more than a couple of nights, that makes a huge difference. Plus, you’re staying in a neighborhood where actual Clujeni live and work, not just a tourist bubble.
