The location is one of those things that grows on you the longer you stay. Sure, you’re not in the heart of Cluj-Napoca’s old town, but you’re close enough that a 15-minute walk gets you to Union Square. What I actually loved about being on Oașului Street is how quiet it gets at night — no drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 3 AM. There’s a decent grocery store just around the corner, which comes in handy when you’ve got a kitchenette situation going on.

The Apartment Experience

Here’s where Iris Cluj really shines — these aren’t just hotel rooms, they’re proper apartment setups. My unit had a separate living area, a full kitchen with everything you’d need to cook a real meal, and honestly, it felt more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in a hotel. The room itself was spacious enough that I could actually unpack my suitcase completely (you know how rare that is). The bathroom was modern and well-designed, though the shower pressure could’ve been stronger.

Practical Details

The staff here are genuinely helpful — not just going through the motions, but actually interested in making sure you’re sorted. Parking is available, which is a real blessing in Cluj-Napoca where finding a spot can be a nightmare. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly throughout my stay, and the air conditioning actually cooled the place down (again, not always a given). I appreciated that they kept the common areas clean without being obsessive about it.

Why Guests Keep Coming Back

What sets this place apart is that it gives you space to breathe. You can make your morning coffee in your own kitchenette, spread out your work on the dining table, and generally live like a normal human being instead of cramming everything into a tiny hotel room. The 8.8 rating makes sense when you consider the value — you’re getting significantly more space and amenities than you’d find at a traditional four-star hotel in the city center, and at a better price point too. It’s perfect if you’re staying more than just a night or two, or if you simply prefer having your own space to retreat to after exploring Cluj-Napoca’s surprisingly vibrant food and culture scene.
