You know what caught me off guard about Lovely House By Mary SuperCentral and Parking? The name sounds almost too casual for what you actually get. I mean, when I first booked this three-star place on Strada Traian, I was honestly just looking for somewhere decent to crash in Cluj-Napoca. But walking up to this restored building, there’s something genuinely welcoming about it — like Mary (yes, there really is a Mary) actually cares about the details.

Location That Actually Makes Sense

The “SuperCentral” part isn’t marketing fluff — you’re literally a five-minute walk from Unirii Square, which is where everything happens in Cluj. What I loved is that you can duck out for coffee at one of those tiny Romanian cafes on Eroilor Street, then be back at the hotel before your room service gets cold. The Traian Street location puts you right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to stumble back from the old town but far enough away that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists at 3 AM.

The Space Itself

Here’s the thing — this isn’t your typical hotel setup. Each unit feels more like staying in someone’s well-appointed guest apartment, complete with a proper kitchen that you’ll actually want to use. I ended up cooking breakfast there a couple times because the local market on Memorandumului Street has these incredible pastries and local cheese. The rooms are bigger than you’d expect for the price point, and honestly, the Wi-Fi was faster than what I have at home.

The Mary Factor

Look, I’ve stayed at places where the staff barely acknowledges you exist, but Mary — or her team, I’m not entirely sure of the setup — actually seems to remember guests. When I mentioned I was looking for a good restaurant that wasn’t too touristy, she pointed me toward this tucked-away spot on Napoca Street that ended up being one of the best meals I had in Romania. There’s no formal concierge desk or anything fancy, but the local knowledge is genuine. Plus, that parking situation is no joke — having a guaranteed spot in central Cluj is worth its weight in gold.

Why Guests Love It

The 9.7 rating makes total sense once you’re there. It’s not trying to be something it isn’t — no pretentious lobby or overpriced minibar — but everything just works smoothly. The building has character without being run-down, the location saves you money on taxis, and you get that local insight that makes a real difference when you’re exploring a city like Cluj-Napoca. Honestly, I’d book it again without hesitation, which says something since I’m usually the type to try somewhere new every trip.

  It is a very nice modern apartment in a new block close to the city center. Good connections because of many bus lines in front of the building. Nice coffee places and supermarkets on walking distance. Good wifi and desk to work.

  Cazarea este la 10 minute de plimbare pana in centru. Zona linistita, curatenie, bloc nou. Apartament utilat complet, cu tot ce ai nevoie chiar si pentru un sejur de lunga durata. Gazda atenta si intelegatoare, am putut face check-out cu o ora mai tarziu.
