NOVAPART sits on Calea Baciului in a residential area that honestly feels more like where locals actually live than the touristy center of Cluj-Napoca. It’s one of those four-star apartment-style places that’s basically a hybrid between a hotel and extended-stay housing — which sounds weird, but actually works pretty well if you’re planning to stick around for more than just a weekend.

Location & Getting Around

You’re about a 15-minute drive from the old town center, which means you’ll either need to rent a car or get comfortable with taxis and rideshares. The upside? You get to see how Cluj really operates beyond the main squares and cafes. There’s decent parking here, which is honestly a relief if you’ve tried driving around the historic center — those medieval streets weren’t exactly designed for modern cars.

The Space Itself

What I liked about NOVAPART is that each unit feels like an actual apartment rather than a cramped hotel room with a mini-fridge. The kitchen setup is legit — you can actually cook a proper meal instead of just reheating leftovers. The spaces are clean and functional, though don’t expect anything too fancy in terms of decor. It’s more about practicality than Instagram-worthy interiors, which honestly suits the vibe of this part of Cluj.

What Works (And What Doesn’t)

The 7.2 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price point. Staff are straightforward and helpful without being overly formal — they’ll point you toward good local spots if you ask. The building itself is modern enough that everything works properly, though you might hear your neighbors occasionally. It’s not a soundproof luxury tower, but it’s not a problem unless you’re a really light sleeper.

Why Guests Keep Coming Back

I think NOVAPART works best for people who want to experience Cluj without paying tourist prices for everything. You’re close enough to get into the city center when you want culture and nightlife, but you’re staying in a neighborhood where you can grab groceries at normal prices and maybe chat with locals at the corner cafe. It’s particularly good if you’re here for work or planning a longer stay — having that kitchen and apartment-style space makes a real difference after a few days.

• Awesome Host. Few problems at the beginning, but everything became perfect for most of the stay – Aurelian from Romania – June 26, 2024 (8/10)

  I liked the comfortable bed, the way the space was designed, the mirror near the bed. We had some problems with the apartment when we arrived but the host was prompt in solving them. I believe most of the time, the way the host behaves is the most important aspect and here they were really understanding.
  
  What could be improved: It didn’t have Air Conditioner in June, but we talked with the host and he solved it in an hour or so. Also, this won’t be a problem anymore since after we left they installed an air conditioner.

  That it had an underground parking zone. The bedroom is pretty big.
  
  What could be improved: You had to pay extra for bed covers for the extendable couch. The bathroom is to small to have a bathtub, so there isn't much space left.

  The shower was having good pressure and easy to control the temperature.
  
  What could be improved: No WiFi and TV services due to issues with the provider – they knew beforehand, and we were not made aware. We found out after we called
  the host.
  Not enough towels – as we stated that we are 4 people – it was just for 2.
  No aircon facility, but it is stated on the website that they have – we had a standing fan.
  No tea coffee facilities were provided, even though they got the coffee amenities.
  The sockets were coming off the wall and can be a hazard.
  We are sorry to leave these comments, but this is what we found, and we tried to be honest and lenient. I hope the host will sort it out and update the information accordingly.
  Also, the house rules about cooking in the property are out of the way – please at least leave an explanation to your guests why.

  The location was close to a Supermarket.
  Fully equipped kitchen but there is a weird house rule that says you are only allowed to cook for 30 minutes.
  
  What could be improved: Far from city centre and points of interest.
  The apartment was advertised as having AC and a garden view. As the apartment is located at the top floor, there was no view of this garden, just the crowded and noisy street and the other balconies. It was very hot in the summer and there was no AC, just two wind blowers that could not handle the heat.
  The power sockets came out of the walls unless we held them in by hand. The apartment feels cheap and unfinished.
  We noticed a water leak coming from under the tiles in the bathroom when we first entered,
  This got worse as we used the shower, even if we wiped the water. The day before last, my girlfriend slipped in the puddle and injured her knee so we had to leave a day early.
  The host promised a refund for the day we had to leave and apologized but did not offer it in the end. Kept saying booking did not deliver the money, but I confirmed with booking they made the payment.
  For almost 100e a night this was a bad overall experience and the host is untrustworthy. Better look somewhere else.

  What could be improved: Am primit alt apartament decât cel prezentat în fotografii. Deși am solicitat check in pt ora 13 printr un mesaj cu o zi înainte, am primit un mesaj prin care eram anunțați că trebuie să anunțat acest lucru cu o zi înainte, fapt pe care l am făcut dar nu am mai primit un răspuns concret. Deși era specificat că voi primi un mesaj in ziua cazării cu datele de acces, a trebuit să sunt eu la ora 16 la proprietate deși solicitasem cu o zi înainte check in la ora 13 iar în prezentarea apartamentului se preciza că ora de check in ,ora 15. Menționez că abia după 30 de min și sunat mi a răspuns administratorul.

  What could be improved: – Baia are Instalatia sanitara sparta -> iese apa de sub calorifer din perete (posibil sa fie o teava de presiune sau efectiv este scurgerea de la vana)
  – Bucataria are electrocasnice bune insa nu are nimic in dotare inafara de sapun de vase si cos de gunoi (lipseste si buretele de vase)
  – Balconul este complet gol
  – Usa de la intrare nu se inchide nici bine nici ermetic ( iarna scapa caldura din apartament )
  – Blocul nu are interfon, usa de la intrare nu este niciodata inchisa, parcarea este subterana dar nu este inchisa, blocul este intro zona relativ nou construita si destul de pustie ( un mare plus este ca exista un Lidl vis a vis )
