It’s a three-star property, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s basic — this place punches well above its weight class. The building itself has this sort of understated charm that grows on you, especially once you realize just how perfectly positioned it is.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re close enough to the action but far enough away to actually get some peace and quiet. The Cetatuie area is where locals go when they want to escape the hustle of the city center — there are walking trails nearby, and you can actually reach some fantastic viewpoints on foot. Couples absolutely love it here (and I can see why), because there’s something romantic about watching the city lights come alive from up here. The parking situation is actually manageable too, which is more than I can say for most places in Cluj.

The Room Experience

My room had floor-to-ceiling windows that basically turned the whole space into a viewing platform — I spent way too much time just standing there with my morning coffee. The rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works as it should. What really impressed me was how quiet it gets at night; you’d think being on a hillside might mean dealing with wind or street noise, but it’s surprisingly peaceful. The beds are decent quality, and honestly, when you wake up to those views, you’re not going to be nitpicking about thread counts.

Dining & Amenities

The on-site restaurant serves solid Romanian fare with a focus on local ingredients — nothing groundbreaking, but the kind of hearty, satisfying meals that hit the spot after a day of exploring. What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know the area inside and out; they gave me some great recommendations for hiking spots that I never would have found on my own. The common areas are well-maintained, and there’s this terrace where you can sit with a drink and just watch the world go by below.

  What an exceptional view!! Right next to the lovely park above the old city. The room and bathroom were very spacious and clean, the staff very polite and helpful, access to a lovely terrace overlooking the city, and a restaurant/bar with amazing views for a nightcap.
  
  What could be improved: Would have liked a kettle in the room and walking up three flights of stairs loaded with baggage is quite an effort.

  The rooms on the 2nd floor were modernised, room size was generous. Classy set-up, comfy beds, quiet room. Staff extremely friendly.
  
  What could be improved: The entrance is through a place where some tables are set for dinner. The reception is at the same place as the bar, but we couldn’t figure it out. No elevator to get to the 2nd floor.
  The remote control wasn’t working properly, and there’s no coffee/tea in the room.

  Loved the location, view, staff, and restaurant. The room and private bathroom were super clean, and the place smelled nice and fresh. There was a large terrace facing the city downhill. The location and view are unbeatable.
