I’ll be honest — when I first arrived at PATRU Apartment on Strada Iuliu Maniu, I wasn’t expecting much from the street-level entrance. But step inside this ground-floor apartment, and you quickly realize you’ve stumbled onto something special. The space feels more like a friend’s incredibly well-designed home than a typical hotel stay, which is exactly what makes it work so well.

Location & Getting Around

The location in Cluj-Napoca is actually pretty smart — you’re close enough to the action without being stuck in the tourist chaos of the Old Town. I mean, you can walk to the main sights in about 15 minutes, but you’ve also got this quieter residential feel that lets you experience the city like locals do. There’s a decent parking situation too, which anyone who’s driven through Romanian city centers will appreciate.

The Space Itself

What struck me most about this four-star place is how thoughtfully everything’s been put together. The kitchen isn’t just some afterthought with a mini-fridge and microwave — it’s actually functional, with proper appliances and enough space to cook if you want to hit the local markets. The living area flows naturally into the sleeping space, and honestly, the whole layout just makes sense in a way that a lot of apartment-style accommodations don’t quite nail.

Comfort & Amenities

You know what really impressed me? The attention to detail in the room setup. The bed is genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and they’ve thought about things like proper lighting for reading and enough outlets where you actually need them. The bathroom feels modern without trying too hard, and the water pressure is solid — which, let’s face it, can be hit or miss in older European buildings.

That 9.8 rating isn’t just inflated reviews — people genuinely connect with this place because it strikes that perfect balance between professional hospitality and homey comfort.   The location is great! Right in the city center, on a pedestrian street, close to everything: restaurants, bars, shops, attractions, 1 minute from Unirii Square. The apartment was very clean, comfy large bed, all the amenities that you need and some extra 🙂 we felt we comfortable and ee loved everything. The access is from an interior garden, there is also a small hostel there so you can see other people in the garden, and the building is an old historical one- we were not bothered by this.
  
  What could be improved: I cannot think of anything.. maybe the fact that the shower area can be a bit slippery but not a big issue.

  Hidden and quiet apartment, in the heart of the city.
  
  What could be improved: There is only one table in the house, and that is the kitchen table. For us it was ok, but if anyone needs like a small desk for remote work, it could be uncomfortable.

  The apartment was very cosy and clean, with a lot of usefull stuff at your disposal like: Coffee maker, iron, blankets, watter,coffee. Right in the heart of the city, quiet litle street and nice backyard where you can drink your coffee in the morning.
  
  What could be improved: The light outside had a very sensitive sensor and it lit up often, being a little bit annoying at night.

  The apartment is very well located close to the center in a quiet area. Very clean and spacious supplied with all necessary appliances needed. We had an amazing stay and whenever next in town it'll be again our preferred choice.
