The building sits right in the heart of Cluj-Napoca, and I mean really in the heart of it. You’re literally steps away from everything that matters in this city, which honestly explains why couples keep giving the location a perfect 10.

Here’s what I love about staying here — you can walk to Piața Unirii in about three minutes, maybe four if you’re dragging luggage. The old town spreads out around you like you’re at the center of a map, and you know what? That’s exactly where you want to be in Cluj. I’ve stayed in places on the outskirts where you spend half your vacation figuring out public transport, but Rex Nest puts you right where the action is. The cafes, the bars, those little galleries tucked into medieval buildings — it’s all right there.

The Room Experience

The room itself is what I’d call thoughtfully simple. Nothing flashy, but everything works exactly as it should. The beds are comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), the Wi-Fi actually reaches every corner, and the windows let in just enough street life to remind you you’re in a real neighborhood without keeping you awake. There’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on getting the basics absolutely right rather than throwing money at unnecessary extras.

Local Neighborhood Feel

What really struck me about this area is how it feels genuinely local even though you’re in the tourist center. In the morning, you’ll see Cluj residents heading to work, stopping at the corner bakery, living their actual lives around you. The street has this nice mix of residential buildings and small businesses — not the sterile hotel district vibe you get in some cities. Plus, if you’re into evening walks, the nearby streets have this lovely old-world architecture that looks completely different under the streetlights.

  Big and clean flat! Very fresh bathroom and a good washing machine. Great location in the center of the city in a nice old building. The small balcony was nice for enjoying a bit of sunshine with a beer. Lots of restaurants around and short walking distance everywhere. Very close to public transport too from the airport and railway station.
  
  What could be improved: The desk is either assembled bad or just bad quality, it was so shaky that was impossible to read or write on it without getting motion sickness. One of the chairs was useless too. Would have been nice to have a sturdy desk. Only one door with frosted glass window to the staircase, so you can hear everything from there. The boiler/heating system (?) is next to the bed in the living room in a closet and makes a noise every now and then, disturbing a light sleeper.

  Auch wenn das Appartement mitten im Getümmel liegt, war es vorteilhaft hier zu wohnen. Alles war fußläufig zu erreichen. Das Auto sollte man gleich im nahegelegenen Parkhaus parken. Parkplätze gibt’s in der Nähe keine.
