The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had these impossibly high ceilings that made me feel like I was sleeping in someone’s grand old family home (which, I mean, sort of makes sense given the name). The furnishings strike this nice balance between historical character and modern comfort — no creaky antique beds that leave you sore, but enough period details to remind you you’re somewhere with history. Actually, the bathroom was surprisingly spacious for a building this old.

What Makes It Special

This four-star property really nails the “family house” vibe they’re going for. The staff treats you less like a hotel guest and more like a distant relative who’s come to visit. I had this conversation with the front desk person about the best local wine shops that went on for twenty minutes — try getting that at a chain hotel. The whole place has maybe fifteen rooms, so you’re not competing with crowds for anything.

  Very good location, exactly at the city center, right behind the landmark church. No typical urban bustling and very quiet instead. There is new washing machine, definitely a surprising delight to long time business travellers. Very helpful owner

  Plenty of space in the house – perfect for my 2 year old running around!
  
  What could be improved: The bathtub leaked, so there was a puddle over the bathroom floor every time we used it. There also weren't any proper bath towels (only small hand towels).

  There was a code for the outer door from the street and the keys were in the private alleyway
  
  What could be improved: The private alley access was not lit and had a big dangerous hole about 350x350mm and about 250mm deep which could have led to a serious injury. We left one LED bulb on when we went out so the dangerous alley had a bit of light on our return which led to texts from the landlord saying we must not leave the light on. NOT NICE for a dark dangerous access alley and for the landlord to keep texting us. The landlords workmen made matters worse by leaving pipes, timber and steel in the access alley.
  There was a lot of dirty old stuff in the place especially in the large storeroom next to the kitchen.
  The bath was dirty with lots of mould between the bath and the wall. No shower curtain so the floor got wet and slippery. There were areas, like the bathroom radiator, that were really dirty.
  TV was very small.
  Kitchen unit doors had sharp corners and didn't close fully.

  Ne-a asigurat exact ceea ce căutam.
  Un loc liniștit în care ne-am putut odihni după activitățile din timpul zilei. Nu e lux, dar totul e foarte curat, spațios și confortabil. E liniște, răcoare, fără a fi nevoie de aer condiționat și nu în ultimul rând, fără insecte supărătoare.
  In plus, persoana care a ținut legătura cu noi și ne-a dat toate detaliile privind locația și accesul, a fost foarte atentă la orice detaliu pentru a ne satisface necesitățile.
  
  What could be improved: Poate e doar un moft, dar prima impresie spune mult ! Acordați puțin mai multă atenție curții și faceți-o mai atractivă.
