I’ll be honest — when I first walked into this apartment on Strada Septimiu Albini, I wasn’t expecting much from the rather industrial-looking building exterior. But the moment you step inside and see those floor-to-ceiling windows framing Cluj-Napoca like a living postcard, you get it. The view actually makes you stop and stare, which doesn’t happen often when you’ve seen your fair share of city hotels.

The Space Itself

This isn’t your typical hotel room — it’s more like staying in a friend’s really well-appointed flat. The kitchen is fully equipped (I mean really equipped, not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation), which honestly saved me a fortune during my week-long stay. The layout flows naturally from the living area to the bedroom, and there’s enough space that you don’t feel like you’re living out of a suitcase. What struck me most was how thoughtfully everything was arranged — whoever designed this place actually understood how people live and move through a space.

That View Everyone Talks About

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places that promise “spectacular views,” but this four-star spot actually delivers. From the main windows, you’re looking out over Cluj’s mix of baroque architecture and modern developments, with the Someș River winding through it all. The best time is definitely around sunset when the light hits the old buildings just right. I found myself making coffee in the morning just to have an excuse to stand by those windows for a few extra minutes.

Location Reality Check

Strada Septimiu Albini isn’t exactly in the tourist center, but that’s actually part of what makes this place work. You’re far enough from the Old Town crowds to feel like you’re living like a local, but close enough that a fifteen-minute walk gets you to Piața Unirii. The neighborhood has that authentic Romanian feel — there’s a small grocery store around the corner, and the locals at the nearby restaurant will chat with you if your Romanian extends beyond “mulțumesc.” Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the center.
