Location & Neighborhood

You know what I love about this spot? It’s properly central in Cluj-Napoca without being stuck in the touristy chaos. Strada Ploieşti puts you within easy walking distance of the old town, but you’re also close enough to the more local neighborhoods where people actually live and work. I mean, you can grab coffee at a proper Romanian café in the morning and still make it to the main square in under ten minutes. The tram connections are solid too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re hauling luggage around.

The Apartment Experience

This is where ZEN Central really gets it right — each apartment feels like someone’s well-designed home rather than a generic hotel room. The kitchen actually works (I tested it with some local groceries), and there’s proper counter space for more than just instant coffee. The living areas have this understated style that’s comfortable without trying too hard — think clean lines, decent lighting, and furniture that doesn’t make you wince when you sit down.

What Makes It Special

The four-star rating feels spot-on here because everything just works the way it should. The Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out during video calls, the shower has actual water pressure, and — this might sound small but it’s not — the parking situation is sorted without drama. I’ve stayed at places with higher ratings where basic stuff like this falls apart. The staff seems to understand that travelers want solutions, not explanations, which is refreshing.

  The rooms were clean and renovated, and the showers were clean. There was plenty of toilet paper.

  Communication on check-in and key handover was smooth and reliable.

  This was very helpful as safety is paramount in foreign accommodation.

  Apartment was clean, was well equipped and the central heating worked perfectly. It was also very quiet considering that this is center of cluj. I will definitely revisit next time I will be in cluj 🙂

  The apartment is equipped with everything, we enjoyed our stay. Nearby is a market and fast food. A Thermostat is available inside, so you can set your desired temperature. A mini bar is available with diverse drinks. Water, tea and Coffee capsules are available for free
  
  What could be improved: Some glasses of water had too many finger prints on them. The EV charging station spots were occupied by thermic cars, but I don’t think is fully the owner’s fault (maybe the check-in messages can be improved in order to maintain at least an available spot for EV).

  The location is great, 10 minutes by walking to the city center.
  The free parking is a great plus.
  The apartment is big enough for 2 people, very clean and with lots of pearks like: coffee machine, free water, free coffee, Netflix.
  The communication with the host was great.
  
  We stayed in the Untold period and this apartment was perfect for walking to the festival.

  + Apartment was really beautiful. Some of them have a bidet, some have a washing machine.

  What could be improved: – in the executive apartment, the ac is in the living room and not in the bedroom. It is quite hard to cool the bedroom temperature down. In the junior suite, the ac is positioned perfectly.
  – the room was clean, but there was still some confetti here and there.
  – we only got 1 small towel and 2 big ones. Unfortunately no towel for the bidet and the soap was fixed at the sink => could not use the bidet very efficient.
  – the underground garage is very narrow due to some pillars to park, but it's very large after you managed to park.
