Strada Mioritei is one of those streets locals actually live on, which I love. You’re close enough to the old town that you can walk there in about fifteen minutes, but far enough out that you escape the tourist chaos. There’s a small grocery store around the corner — super handy when you want to grab some of that amazing Romanian bread for breakfast. The tram stops nearby, and honestly, Cluj’s public transport is surprisingly good if you want to explore beyond the center.

The Apartment Setup

Here’s where Akaasia Apart really shines — these aren’t just hotel rooms, they’re proper apartments. My apartment had a full kitchen with everything you’d actually need, not just a sad mini-fridge and kettle situation. The living area feels genuinely livable, with a couch you’d want to spend an evening on and windows that let in plenty of light. The bedroom was spacious enough that I wasn’t tripping over my suitcase every morning, which, let’s be honest, matters more than you’d think.

Daily Comforts

What struck me most was how everything just worked smoothly. The wifi didn’t drop every five minutes, the shower had proper water pressure, and the heating actually kept the place warm during those chilly Romanian evenings. There’s parking available too — not always a given in Cluj’s increasingly busy streets. The staff keeps things low-key but helpful; they’re there when you need them but won’t hover around making small talk if that’s not your thing.

Why Guests Love It

I think the real magic of this place is that it gives you space to live like a local for a few days. You can cook your own meals if you want, but you’re also close to some fantastic restaurants in the old town. It’s perfect for longer stays or if you just prefer having your own space rather than feeling like you’re camping out in a hotel room. The combination of independence and comfort — plus that residential neighborhood vibe — makes it feel like you’re actually experiencing Cluj rather than just visiting it. For the price point and that stellar rating, it’s exactly what you’d hope for in this vibrant Transylvanian city.

  Locatia foarte buna. Cartier linistit si totdata aporape de centrul vechi al orasului. De asemenea, finisajele si dotarile sunt foarte frumoase, de calitate, atmosfera fiind de… confort si lux.
  
  What could be improved: CURATENIA trebuie imbunatatita: desi lenjeria a fost curata, totusi pernele, pilotele trebuie obligatoriu duse la curatatorie. Era evident ca fusesera folosite de multe ori, de mai multi clienti, fara a fi igienizate (niciodata sau de foarte mult timp). De asemenea, curatenia trebuie mai temeinica in spatiul de gatit, dulapuri, vesela, zona cosului de gunoi etc. In acelasi timp, covorasele/carpetele de pe pardoseala trebuie igientizate.
  Lipsesc instructiuni de folosire pentru plita cu inductie – care nu functiona – si masina de spalat vase. Lipsesc aspiratorul, mopul si fierul de calcat.

  Apartament este mare, este nou, mobilier și finisaje moderne și calitative.
  
  What could be improved: Mi-ar fi plăcut să aibe plase pentru insecte, săpun, gel de duș, uscător de păr, burete la bucătărie, mici detalii care foarte posibil să fie remediate în viitorul apropriat.

  What could be improved: Din pacate am avut o experienta cam neplacuta! La ora 15 ar fi trebuit sa facem check in-ul dar camera inca la 15:45 nu o fost gata, atunci au facut inca patul, nu am avut prosoape, hartie igienica numai la ora 16. Nu au vrut sa lase pe sotul meu inauntru sa faca check in numai dupa ce ii trimit poza cu buletinul meu… Am gasit niste cofeta in cabinetul de langa wc. Langa apartament au facut constructie. Camera era ok, destul de curata, dar din aceste neplaceri nu as mai plati inca odata.
