It’s tucked away on Strada Tăietura Turcului in a quiet residential area that feels authentically Romanian — none of that touristy bustle you get closer to the old town. The building itself is unassuming from the outside, but step into apartment 8 on the ground floor and you’re greeted by this surprisingly spacious, well-designed space that immediately feels like home rather than just another hotel room.

Location & Getting Around

Honestly, this four-star place sits in one of those neighborhoods where locals actually live, which I found refreshing. You’re about a 10-minute walk from Cluj-Napoca‘s historic center, but the real advantage is being close to the Someș River — perfect for morning jogs if that’s your thing. There’s a decent grocery store just around the corner, and I noticed several authentic Romanian restaurants nearby that don’t cater specifically to tourists (always a good sign).

The Space Itself

The apartment is thoughtfully laid out — you get a proper living area that doesn’t feel cramped, and the kitchen actually has everything you need if you want to cook. I mean, it’s not enormous, but there’s a full-size fridge, decent cookware, and even a coffee machine that makes better coffee than most hotel lobbies. The bedroom feels separate enough that you don’t feel like you’re living in one big room, which matters more than you’d think on longer stays.

Comfort & Amenities

What really impressed me was the attention to detail — good WiFi (actually fast, not just “adequate”), blackout curtains that work, and a washing machine that’s genuinely useful for longer trips. The bathroom is modern and well-maintained, though not particularly large. There’s parking available, which in Cluj-Napoca is honestly worth its weight in gold, especially in this area where street parking can be tricky.

That 9.7 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. Alice Apartment delivers exactly what it promises — a comfortable, clean, well-equipped space in a genuine neighborhood setting. It’s ideal if you want to experience Cluj-Napoca like a temporary resident rather than a tourist passing through. The value is excellent for what you get, and the host clearly understands what travelers actually need (like proper hangers, decent lighting, and a shower with good water pressure). It’s the kind of place you’d book again without hesitation.

  Best thing about the apartment: it was very cool, even though it was hot outside. Second best thing: the huge terrace with a great view. Location was perfect for our purpose (the Jazz in the Park festival), a bit far if you want to visit the city center.

  Comfortable and luxurieus apartment with spacious shady terras, For us the location was excellent, but if you need to be in Cluj center it is quite far off. Private parking. We will certainly consider to come back if we come to Cluj.
  
  What could be improved: The building is still in development with only around 15% of the apartments occupied. The view from the terras is facing a close by steep hill with on the right a view on the parking and some parts of Cluj center. Both a reason to deduct 1 point for the facilities.

  The location si good, it has a nice spacious terrace and you can find anything you need in the apartment.

  The apartment was nice, cosy and clean. Also well lit and modern. The Host Alina was attentive and made the effort to meet our needs.
  
  We appreciated the coffees and extras left by the hosts. It made our stay more welcoming.
  
  Getting a taxi to the center was very easy and quick.
  
  What could be improved: The only issue I really had were the neighbours, they were a little loud at times. I stayed over the weekend and there were construction works, heavy foot steps and a dog barking. But it wasn't bad enough to ruin our stay.

  El alojamiento está en un edifico con grandes balcones . Está genial el apartamento por dentro y además da para la parte tranquila. No impresionarse ni dejarse llevar por el estado del ascensor . Tiene dos habitaciones , dos baños completos. Una gran terraza también súper equipada y una cocina muy funcional y moderna así como parking privado . Todo puesto con gusto y moderno . Todo muy nuevo . Nos hemos sentido super bien. Súper cómodos . Agradable de estar, porque era muy agradable y acogedor . No faltaba de nada a excepción tal vez de un microondas .   Apartamentul este amenajat foarte placut si eficient, are o terasa spatioasa, paturile sunt confortabile, utilat cu tot ce e nevoie. Parcare privata, cu bariera. La 2-3 minute cu masina este un mega image. Situat la 2 pasi de parcul etnografic. Putin cam departe de centru, dar daca asta nu e o problema, e perfect. Comunicarea cu gazda a fost super ok.
