First Impressions

Blue Record Vibe sits on this quiet residential street that honestly feels worlds away from the bustle you’d expect in Cluj-Napoca. When I first pulled up to Strada Onisifor Ghibu, I wasn’t sure what to expect — the name had me curious, and the building itself has this modern, understated vibe that immediately put me at ease. It’s one of those places where you can tell they’ve thought about every detail without being showy about it.

The Room Experience

My room was spacious in a way that actually surprised me — Romanian hotels can be hit or miss with square footage, but this four-star property gets it right. The design leans contemporary with these cool blue accents (fitting the name, I suppose), and the bed was genuinely comfortable. What I loved most was the soundproofing; you’re close enough to the city center to matter, but far enough from the main roads that you’ll sleep well. The bathroom was modern and well-appointed — nothing groundbreaking, but everything worked perfectly.

Location and Getting Around

Here’s what I really appreciated about the location — you’re about a 15-minute walk to the historic center, which means you can easily stroll to the main square or catch dinner in the old town. But you’re also in this quieter residential area where locals actually live, so you get a feel for real Cluj life. There’s parking available, which honestly saves you a headache if you’re driving — street parking in Cluj can be tricky, especially during the university term when students are around.

Food and Amenities

The hotel has a solid restaurant that serves both Romanian classics and international dishes — I had this excellent ciorbă de burtă that reminded me why I love Romanian cuisine. Breakfast was more than adequate with local options alongside the usual continental spread. They’ve also got a small spa area that’s perfect for unwinding after walking around the city all day. It’s not massive, but it’s well-maintained and peaceful.

  Very moden, nice and cosy in a modern residence complex building.
  A big, nice balcony overseeing the modern courtyard.
  
  The self check in /out also very helpful.
  Downstairs is a Mega Image shop which is very convenient for small groceries.
  During the night very very quiet and safe.
  Not too far from the center.
  I heartily recommend.

  Free privet parking slot in the underground parking, good kitchen utensils, cleanness, self check in. Nice modern building and apartment.
  
  What could be improved: There were no rags and extra garbage bags on the kitchen. Nice to have at least salt, paper, oil for cooking. For one night maybe it not necessary, but we stayed for 5 nights and were missing mentioned items. Also no clothes dryer, despite the presence of a washing/drying machine, no all clothes allowed for machine dry. It is only small things for improvement, in general all was very good 👍.

  Location of the property is very good, it is in a pretty new building, and it is right behind the The Office, so you have in proximity basically everything: public transport, groceries, restaurants, etc. The apartment is very warm, we slept with the window open (beginning of October), with the thermostat set on 19C, still it was 24-25 C in the apartment. There is free parking underground, which you can access with a remote control.
  
  What could be improved: Apartment is pretty small. We stayed in a couple of properties in Cluj lately, and this was the smallest one from all of them (all of them had similar prices). You usually have the basic stuff in the kitchen for cooking, like salt, oil, etc, but here there was nothing, not even a pinch of salt. So it can be good for a 1 night stay, but if you are planning for several days and you want also to cook, you are pretty limited. Also when arriving the wifi was not working, I talked with the owner and also with someone else who I was requested to talk to in order to fix the issue, but no one could help. After that it got solved with a restart to the router. If you are planning to work from this property it could be tricky: when two people working in the same time the internet starts to work pretty bad.

  What could be improved: Az autóval való bejutás kicsit nehézkes volt, mivel nincs közeli megállóhely az utcában. Illetve a mélygarázsból sem egyszerű megtalálni a megfelelő liftet.
