Here’s what I really appreciated about the location — you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Central shopping center, which means you’ve got everything from decent restaurants to late-night snacks covered. But more importantly, you’re in a real neighborhood where locals actually live and work. I found myself grabbing coffee from the small café around the corner most mornings, and the staff there started recognizing me by day three. The area feels safe to walk around at night, which isn’t something I take for granted when traveling.

Practical Details

The building has parking available, though you’ll want to confirm this when booking since spaces can fill up. WiFi worked perfectly throughout my stay — important since I was working remotely part of the time. The owner (or manager, I’m not entirely sure) was responsive via message and helped sort out a minor issue with the heating within an hour. You know what impressed me most? They actually provided local recommendations that weren’t just the typical tourist traps.

  What could be improved: Few things l:
  When I arrived I had to watch the video a few times to understand where it is, as during winter there is an extra door that wasn't in the video, to access the apartment. The code to enter was not the one I received so I had to call the support number for a reset.
  There was no pillow for sleeping so I had to improvise. The blanket was thin and had to increase the temperature in the house.
  The sofa is not very comfortable for sleeping more than 2 nights and I struggled a little to get hot water, but I did eventually.
  Eye covers are a must as it gets bright in the morning.

  The apartment is located super central. It is spacious and have all amenities at hand. There is a desk and a super-sized tv. access is with a lock pad on the front door, so check-i/out is easy as.
  
  What could be improved: The one problem with this apartment is the combined super-sized sofa and bed. It is hard as rock to sleep on and consists of modules that move no matter they are locked. There is plenty room for a proper double bed and a sofa (perhaps with a sofa table) instead of the current solution. Further more, and since my last visit in May, the sofa/bed thing is now coming apart at the seams and show the underlying foam.

  Location-wise (barring the street-noise) you could not ask for better in Cluj. Smack in the middle of everything. The apartment is easy to find (if you watch the video that is sent to you). The Apartment has been newly renovated and all equipment is new and well functioning. The TV is HUGE! There is an X-Box and the free Wi-fi is fast, reliable and easily capable of streaming. The apartment is roomy with plenty of light.
  
  What could be improved: The street is noisy. It is a main street with many emergency vehicles and the occasional power-car/bike using it as a drag-strip (late at night). The coffee machine, fancy as it is, using capsules that come in packs of 8, so you will likely be short or have to buy too many. I would have preferred a simpler percolator. The towels and bedsheets are delivered in a sealed plastic bag, but there is no bath mat unless you use one of the small towels. I stayed for 3 weeks and I was not offered a change of sheets/towels or cleaning. Neither was I offered any other amenities, like toilet rolls. Indeed I didn't hear anything from the hosts for the entirety of my stay. There is no table on which to dine even if there is plenty space for one. The biggest issue, however, is the 'bed'. In the lounge there is a massive black modular sofa which doubles as a settee and a bed. Having rearranged the thing into a u-shape my 'bed' consisted of 3 modules that inevitably came apart during the night (even if the wheels were locked). On top of that, the thing is rock hard, like sleeping on a wooden board. I don't mind a hard bed, indeed I prefer a hard bed, but not that hard! The apartment would benefit greatly from having the current sofa removed and replaced by a proper double-bed and a 2-seater sofa perhaps even with a little sofa table! The space is there.

  Very nice decor, furnishing and bathroom big TV with Netflix, Xbox :). Location in the center. Very nice accomodation.
