First Impressions

Walking up to Da & Do on Strada Scorțarilor, you might second-guess yourself — it’s tucked inside a regular residential building, and honestly, I almost walked past it twice. But that’s exactly what makes this place special. Once you find apartment 3 on the first floor, you realize you’ve discovered something that feels more like staying at a design-savvy friend’s place than a typical hotel.

Location & Getting Around

The thing about being on Scorțarilor Street is that you’re right in the thick of Cluj-Napoca’s energy without the tourist chaos. It’s maybe a 10-minute walk to the main square, but you’re on this quiet side street where locals actually live and work. I mean, you can grab proper Romanian coffee from the corner spot downstairs, and there’s a small grocery store literally next door — which comes in handy more than you’d think.

The Space Itself

This four-star apartment setup really works if you want space to spread out. The room design is clean and modern, with these great big windows that let in tons of light during the day. What I loved most was the little kitchenette area — nothing fancy, but it’s got everything you need if you want to make coffee your way or store some snacks from the local market.

What Makes It Work

The 9.4 rating starts making sense once you settle in. The hosts clearly put thought into the details — good water pressure, blackout curtains that actually work, and reliable WiFi throughout. Plus, there’s parking available, which anyone who’s driven through Cluj’s old town will tell you is worth its weight in gold. The whole place just feels thoughtfully put together without being overly precious about it.

You know what really sets Da & Do apart? It gives you that local living experience while keeping all the comfort and cleanliness you want from a proper hotel. The location puts you close enough to walk everywhere that matters, but far enough from the main drag that you can actually get some peace when you want it. It’s perfect for travelers who like having their own space and don’t need someone greeting them in a marble lobby every time they come and go.

  Location, clean , two separate bedrooms with 2 baths that fitted just great for our group of 4. The owner very receptive.
  
  What could be improved: Outdated apartment, not all the rooms shown in photos were availble( locked) so that’s not ok for the amount of money paid( Untold weekend).

  Returning customer, all was great, clean, functional , closed in balcony , quiet area , the Carrefour market right in front of the apt.
  City Centre very easy accesible and easy to get there fast.Local transport is very efficient in Cluj .

  the apartment was clean, had everything one would ever need from kitchen utensils to toiletries , towels and everything. The Bed was extremely comfy ; there is also a nice balcony where one may savour a coffee, or another drink, quiet area throughout,
  Right in front of the apartment there is a carrefour market, that may provide all kinds of groceries , drinks and other articles, opened everyday until 22 pm . Moreover, if anyone would fancy a very late night meal /snack , there are 2 different non stop "kebab shops" where you may get schnitzels , schawarma etc for as little as 5 £ each, another non stop shop that can get you food, drinks, tobacco, vapes ,etc and also a non stop pharmacy, Just Brillliant !
  Old Town easy accessible by bus or Bolt or even walk, distances are more than bearable
  A very friendly owner, always responsive whenever there was an issue, it was really nice meeting him beforehand and getting some tips and other highlights from him, including the legendary Plum Brandy that I still crave after 🙂

  Clean, comfortable secure apartment within easy walking distance of the main attractions. Also convenient for public transport for those who would rather not walk.
  Well equipped for short or long stays and good value for money. Comfortable bed and great Wifi
