Tucked away on a quiet street in Cluj-Napoca, this four-star boutique hotel feels more like staying at a sophisticated friend’s place than a traditional hotel. The entrance is understated — you might even walk past it if you’re not paying attention — but that’s part of its charm.

Location & Getting Around

The location on Strada Regele Ferdinand is actually perfect if you know Cluj. You’re close enough to walk to the old town in about ten minutes, but far enough from the weekend crowds to get proper sleep. There’s decent parking nearby, which anyone who’s driven in Romanian cities will appreciate. The tram stops are walkable, and I found myself using them to explore different neighborhoods without the usual tourist hassle.

The Space

What really sets Ferdinand apart is how they’ve designed each apartment — and I mean that literally, these aren’t just hotel rooms. Mine had a proper kitchen with everything you’d actually need, not just a mini-fridge and coffee maker. The living area flows naturally into the bedroom, and the whole space feels lived-in rather than sterile. You know what I mean — places where you can actually spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re messing up a museum display.

Daily Rhythms

The building itself has character — it’s in one of those renovated historic structures that Cluj does so well. Being on the second floor means you get street views without the noise, and the natural light throughout the day is honestly amazing for getting work done if you’re mixing business with pleasure. There’s no traditional restaurant on-site, but with that kitchen setup, you’re better off exploring the local markets anyway.

  Ferdinand by NUX, Locația este perfectă – situată central, aproape de tot ce ai nevoie în Cluj, dar totodată liniștită și foarte cochetă. Apartamentul este impecabil – curat, modern, cu un design de bun gust și dotat cu tot ce ai nevoie pentru un sejur confortabil.
  
  Un mare plus îl reprezintă persoana de contact, care a fost extrem de amabilă, promptă și atentă la toate detaliile. Ne-a întâmpinat cu zâmbetul pe buze, ne-a oferit toate informațiile necesare și s-a asigurat pe tot parcursul șederii că totul este în regulă. Rar întâlnești oameni atât de dedicați și profesioniști!
