Location & Getting Around

The location on Calea Moților is actually pretty smart if you know Cluj-Napoca at all. You’re far enough from the tourist chaos of the old town to feel like you’re living somewhere real, but close enough that a fifteen-minute walk gets you to the main square. There’s a Kaufland nearby for groceries, which honestly saved me a ton of money on breakfast and snacks. The tram stops right down the street, and I found myself using public transport way more than I expected — it’s reliable and gets you anywhere you need to go.

The Space Itself

What struck me most was how thoughtfully everything was set up. The apartment feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental — there are personal touches that make the space warm without being cluttered. The kitchen is fully equipped, not just some token setup with a broken coffee maker. I mean, I actually cooked dinner twice because everything I needed was there. The Wi-Fi is solid (I worked from here a couple of days), and the heating works perfectly, which matters more than you’d think in Romanian winters.

Neighborhood Life

Walking around this area gave me a real feel for how locals live in Cluj-Napoca. There’s a small restaurant called Casa Vikingilor just a few blocks away that serves incredible traditional food — definitely not touristy, just honest Romanian cooking. The neighborhood has that lived-in quality where you’ll see the same people walking their dogs every morning, kids heading to school, that sort of thing. It’s the kind of area where you start to feel like a temporary resident rather than just another tourist passing through.

Why Guests Love It

You know what really sets this place apart? The attention to cleanliness and the fact that everything actually works. The shower has proper pressure, the bed is comfortable enough that I slept through the night every single time, and there’s adequate parking if you’re driving. With a 9.7 rating, other guests clearly feel the same way I do. It’s not trying to be fancy or impress anyone — it’s just a really solid, comfortable place to stay that feels authentic to Cluj-Napoca. For the price point, you’re getting way more space and comfort than any hotel room would offer.

  We had a perfect stay at the apartment, that is located very centrally and allows to park a car. The apartment is really lovely, the bed is very comfortable and the host even shared with us some delicious tomators from his garden, We already stayed in the same place some years ago and it we had a really great time this time again.   We were there for Untold and the location of the apartment is very close to the festival grounds. Although a main road is in front of the apartment it’s location in the inner courtyard of the house makes it very calm. The host is very nice and helps with everything. We even had fresh oranges, lemons and mint leaves in the fridge.
