But that’s exactly the point — it feels like discovering a secret that locals have been keeping to themselves. The entrance opens up to this unexpectedly lush courtyard that immediately makes the city noise fade away.

The Location Sweet Spot

I mean, couples are rating this location 9.5 out of 10 for good reason. You’re in the Gheorgheni area, which is sort of this perfect middle ground — close enough to walk to the historic center in about 15 minutes, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds right outside your window. There’s this great little bakery just two blocks down that locals actually use, and you’ll find yourself grabbing coffee there most mornings. The parking situation is honestly a relief too — having your own secure spot included means you don’t have to stress about finding a place to leave your car in the city.

The Room Experience

My room had this interesting mix of modern comfort and subtle Romanian touches that didn’t feel forced or touristy. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom setup is well thought out — good water pressure, plenty of space to spread out your stuff. What I really appreciated was the attention to soundproofing; even though you’re in a residential area, you won’t hear much from neighboring rooms or the street. The WiFi actually works properly throughout the space, which isn’t always a given in smaller properties like this.

Dining and Daily Rhythms

The on-site restaurant serves up this interesting blend of international dishes with Romanian influences — nothing too fancy, but everything I tried was well-prepared and reasonably priced. Breakfast tends to be a quieter affair here, which I actually preferred to the chaos you get at bigger hotels. The staff seems to remember your coffee preferences after a day or two, and there’s something nice about that personal touch. If you want to venture out, the Mănăștur area has some excellent traditional restaurants within a short drive.

Look, this isn’t the kind of place that’s going to wow you with flashy amenities or over-the-top service. What it does well is create this calm, comfortable base where you can actually relax between exploring Cluj-Napoca. The 9.4 rating makes sense when you consider that everything just works smoothly — no drama, no unpleasant surprises, just solid hospitality. The garden area becomes this lovely spot to decompress in the evenings, and you’ll find yourself lingering there longer than you planned. For the price point, it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not.

  This place deserves 100 starts. It was one of the loveliest getaways I’ve had in a while. So grounding and peaceful. The hosts Zoli and Szendy make you feel so welcome and are so attentive. Everything is build by them and the whole place radiates with hard work and lots of family support. The entire cabin + shed + swing + hot tub and garden is all for you. I ended up not able to rent a car at the airport but it was easy to get there by Bolt/Taxi and they were kind enough to drive me all the way to the train station.
  
  I will miss this peaceful place and waking up to birds singing. Don’t think twice and book this cabin!
  
  Also for tips on what to bring:
  Your own food, although there’s a small food shop only 15 min walk from the cabin. In the cabin there’s spices and oil.

  Das war der wohl beste Aufenthalt, den ich je auf Booking gebucht habe. Die Gastgeber könnten nicht freundlicher und hilfsbereiter sein.
  Es war sehr sauber und die Lage ist traumhaft, wenn man einen abgelegenen Urlaub mitten in der Natur genießen will.
  Die tierischen Besucher wie die Rehe, Hunde oder Katzen haben das Ganze sogar noch abgerundet.
  Es wird genügend Platz für mindestens 6 Personen geboten. Allerdings gibt es draußen ebenfalls "Schlaf-Fässer" und eine Scheune mit Schlafmöglichkeiten.
  Insgesamt war der Aufenthalt perfekt und märchenhaft! Ich komme gerne wieder.

  Cadre du chalet, chalet en bois fait par l'hôte, ambiance rustique, calme et reposante. Petite cuisine, belle chambre, bel espace, intérieur comme extérieur. Magnifique jardin avec des ânes très gentils, barbecue, bain extérieur également, fleurs. Dans la maison, tout ce qu'il faut est à disposition: essuis, draps, shampooing, gel douche, épices, couverts, assiettes, … Hôte très accueillant.

  Bella casa nella natura, ristrutturata dal proprietario.
  La bella botte piscina in giardino ci è piaciuta molto, come pure l'altalena sull'albero ai bambini.
  
  What could be improved: La strada sterrata nell'ultimo tratto prima della casa era un po messa male.
  La rete telefonica mobile era molto debole, fortunatamente c'è il Wifi.
