Strada Scorțarilor is one of those streets locals actually use, lined with small cafes and the kind of shops where people buy groceries, not souvenirs. You know what I mean? It’s real Cluj life happening around you. The old town’s cobblestone streets are just a short stroll away, but you’re staying somewhere that feels authentically Romanian rather than tourist-focused. I actually preferred this to being right in the center — less noise at night, better coffee spots nearby.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed without being fussy about it. Clean lines, warm wood accents, and — this matters more than you’d think — blackout curtains that actually work. The bathroom felt modern but not sterile, with good water pressure and those little touches like decent toiletries that show someone’s paying attention. There’s also a small seating area by the window where I’d sit with morning coffee, watching the neighborhood wake up.

What Makes It Special

The staff here genuinely seem to care about what they’re doing, which you notice in small ways throughout your stay. They remember your name, suggest places that aren’t in every guidebook, and handle requests without that forced hospitality smile you get at bigger hotels. The common areas have a cozy, almost residential feel — there’s a small lobby lounge where guests actually hang out rather than just pass through. I mean, the 9.5 rating makes sense once you’ve been there a day or two.

  The location is very good, there is public transportation nearby and the city centre is a 20-30 min walk away. The apartment has a nice design. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom and kitchen are quite modern and well equipped. The living/dining room was very pleasant, also the balcony.
  
  What could be improved: All the light bulbs have white, cold light, which is not so pleasant in the morning/evening. We were struggling a bit with picking up the keys, because we arrived by car and we didn't realize that we had to enter the lobby of the building first, to get the garage door remote. We had the impression that the garage door had some access code too, so we kept looking around the entrance for a good while before we realized what we had to do.

  Breakfast was not included in the price but there is a LIDL not to far where you can buy anything.

  The design of the apartment was beautiful, and the bed was very comfortable!
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately, someone might have smoked in the living room before, as the sofa had a cigarette smell coming from it. This made it uncomfortable for us to use, as we do not smoke at all, and the smell was bothersome.

  The property was modern, comfortable and well equipped with kitchen appliances. It was in a nice part of the city and close to Lidl and other grocery stores.
  
  What could be improved: There were a few things that needed some updates such as the cutting board, the shower head and shower temperature switch.

  Apartamentul este in zona centrala, avea loc de parcare in parcarea subterana a blocului. Apartamentul este spatios si dotat cu toate utilitatile. Gazda a fost foarte prompta in a ne raspunde la întrebări.
  
  Am primit instructiuni de acces pe email, a fost ok desi initial nu am inteles exact ordinea (nu poti intra cu mașina in parcare până nu iei telecomanda).
  
  Nu am avut acces la internet dar s-a rezolvat a doua zi la cateva minute dupa ce am contactat gazda.

  Gazda:
  – un domn receptiv la nevoile noastre și cu recomandari bune (ne-a dat toate detaliile pas cu pas – printr-un mesaj scurt si clar – privind cazarea si parcarea).
  Apartamentul:
  – este situat intr-un bloc nou, modern si calduros,
  – amenajat cu rafinament in culori naturale si accent fin de cafeniu ce armonizeaza cu restul elementelor de pamant,
  – bine organizat si dotat cu absolut tot ce ai nevoie,
  – lenjeriile cat si prosoapele curate si parfumate,
  – liniste, cu vecini respectosi.
  Zona:
  – situat in centrul orasului,in acelasi timp intr-o zona linistita si sigura. Locație excelentă.
