First Impressions

Walking up to Hotel Stil on Str. Fagetului, you immediately notice how quiet this little street is — which honestly surprised me given how close we were to everything in Cluj-Napoca. The building itself has this clean, modern look that doesn’t try too hard, and the entrance feels welcoming without being overly fancy. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a solid three-star place that knows what it’s doing.

Location That Actually Works

Here’s the thing about this spot — you’re tucked away on a residential street, but you can walk to the main square in about ten minutes. I mean, you get the best of both worlds: you can actually sleep at night because there’s no street noise, but you’re not stuck in some remote area either. The couples I saw during my stay seemed to really appreciate this balance, and I get why recent guests have been raving about the location. You know what’s nice? There’s parking available, which if you’ve ever tried to park in Cluj’s city center, you’ll understand is kind of a big deal.

The Room Experience

My room was clean and well-thought-out — nothing groundbreaking, but everything worked properly and felt fresh. The bed was actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), and the bathroom had good water pressure. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details: proper lighting for reading, enough outlets where you need them, and blackout curtains that actually block light. The whole space felt like someone who travels regularly designed it, if that makes sense.

Daily Rhythms

Breakfast happens in a bright little restaurant area that feels more like a neighborhood café than a hotel dining room. The selection isn’t huge, but what they do have is fresh and local — proper Romanian cheese, good bread, decent coffee. I found myself lingering there longer than usual, partly because the staff was genuinely friendly (not just professionally polite), and partly because it felt like a nice way to ease into the day before heading out to explore Cluj.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Hotel Stil isn’t trying to be something it’s not — it’s a well-run, comfortable place that gets the fundamentals right. The 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience how smoothly everything operates and how the location really does work for exploring the city. Couples seem particularly drawn to it, probably because it strikes that sweet spot between being romantic enough for a getaway but practical enough that you’re not paying for amenities you won’t use. If you want to be in Cluj without dealing with the chaos of the main tourist strips, but still be close enough to walk everywhere that matters, this place actually delivers on that promise.

  I liked everything about this hotel. Staff are all very nice and helpful. Restaurant is very good. I like the location just outside of Cluj so it's quiet and has good parking yet it's only short taxi ride into Cluj. This hotel is very clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

  The hotel is trying very hard to provide four-star comfort, almost four-star quality at every part of the room or service.

  Another excellent stay at hotel Stil, my favourite hotel in Cluj. Staff are very friendly, restaurant is excellent and I like the location outside busy Cluj yet only short taxi ride away from Cluj city centre.
