Walking into Lady-s feels like discovering one of those places locals keep to themselves — and honestly, I can see why. This four-star hotel sits on Calea Mănăștur, which might not sound glamorous, but it’s actually one of the most practical spots you could ask for in Cluj-Napoca. The lobby has this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard, with clean lines and warm lighting that immediately puts you at ease.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re close enough to the city center that a quick taxi ride gets you to the Old Town in about 10 minutes, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds stumbling past your window at 2 AM. The Mănăștur area has grown on me over the years; there are decent cafes within walking distance, and you know what, the neighborhood actually feels lived-in rather than touristy. Plus, if you’re driving, parking here is infinitely easier than anywhere downtown.

The Room Experience

My room was surprisingly spacious — I mean, Cluj hotels can be hit or miss with space, but Lady-s gets it right. The design leans modern without being cold, with thoughtful touches like good bedside lighting (trust me, this matters when you’re trying to read) and blackout curtains that actually work. The bathroom was spotless, though not particularly large, but everything functioned perfectly which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed in Romania.

Amenities & Service

The staff here genuinely seem to care about getting things right, which you notice in small ways — like remembering your preference for a quiet floor or actually following through when you ask about local recommendations. There’s a restaurant on-site that serves solid Romanian dishes with some international options, though honestly, I’d recommend exploring the city’s dining scene if you have time. The breakfast spread was better than expected, with fresh local ingredients that reminded me why Romanian produce is underrated.

With a 9.2 rating, Lady-s clearly knows what travelers want — reliability without the stuffiness of larger chain hotels. It’s the kind of place where business travelers feel comfortable getting work done, but couples on a city break don’t feel out of place either. The value proposition is solid; you’re getting four-star comfort at prices that won’t make you wince when you check your credit card statement. For Cluj-Napoca, which is still finding its footing as a tourist destination, this hotel represents exactly the kind of quality accommodation the city needs more of.

  The apartment is quite spacious. The kitchen is functional and contains pretty much everything you need for breakfast or fast cooking. The bathroom is newly refurbished and very nice. The apartment has also a huge wardrobe which comes in very handy for longer stays. The location is just across close to a huge supermarket, in walking distance to a farmer's market and to the main area of the neighborhood. The bus stop is right in front of the apartment building and any bus takes you in no time to the city center from there.
  
  What could be improved: The the toilet was not cleaned after the previous tenants. I hope it was a mistake due to the short times between their check-out and my check-in. Also the fridge might need some cleaning.
