Walking up to Lovely loft on Strada Iasomiei, you’d never guess what awaits inside from the unassuming exterior. This four-star property sits in one of Cluj-Napoca’s quieter residential areas, which honestly turned out to be one of my favorite things about it. The moment I stepped through the door, I knew this wasn’t your typical hotel — it feels more like staying at a design-savvy friend’s place who happens to have impeccable taste.

The Space That Surprises

The loft concept really delivers here, and I mean that in the best way possible. High ceilings, exposed beams, and this wonderful sense of space that you just don’t get in most city accommodations. My room had this industrial-chic vibe going on — think polished concrete floors softened by carefully chosen textiles and warm lighting. The kitchenette was actually functional too, not just for show, which came in handy when I wanted to grab fresh ingredients from the local market and cook something simple.

Location & Local Life

You know what I love about Strada Iasomiei? It’s residential enough that you feel like you’re living in Cluj-Napoca rather than just visiting. There’s a small café about two blocks away where locals actually go for their morning coffee — none of that tourist trap stuff. The walk to the city center takes maybe 15 minutes, but honestly, I found myself taking longer routes just to explore the tree-lined streets in this neighborhood. It’s got that authentic Romanian charm without being too far from the action.

The Details That Matter

The staff here gets it — they’re helpful without being hovering, if that makes sense. When I mentioned I was interested in trying some local wines, the owner (I think?) actually drew me a little map to his favorite wine bar in the old town. The apartment came with all those little touches that show someone was actually thinking about what travelers need: good WiFi, blackout curtains that actually work, and a shower with proper water pressure. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Cluj-Napoca will appreciate.

Why Guests Love It

With a 9.6 rating, Lovely loft clearly knows what it’s doing. I think it’s because they’ve nailed that sweet spot between having your own space and getting personalized service. You’re not dealing with crowded hotel lobbies or fighting for a table at the hotel restaurant — instead, you have this peaceful base where you can spread out and actually relax. The neighborhood feels safe for evening walks, and there’s something really satisfying about coming “home” to your own loft after a day of exploring the city. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay an extra night, just because.

  Plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 children. Main room is equipped with AC, witch was perfect in the torrid summer days that we spent there. Fully equipped kitchen. A great view of Cluj from the balcony. Parking space available all the time in front of the unit. Close by city center.
