MA Housing West Tower – 14th, 13th, 12th, 9th floor caught me completely off guard — in the best way possible. I’ll be honest, the name sounds more like a corporate office building than a place you’d want to stay, but once you’re up on those higher floors, the views over Cluj-Napoca are something else. This four-star property sits right on Calea Florești, which means you’re basically in the thick of things without dealing with the old town crowds.
The Room Experience
My room on the 13th floor felt more like a well-designed apartment than your typical hotel setup. The floor-to-ceiling windows frame the city perfectly — you know what really got me? Watching the sunrise hit the Transylvanian hills in the distance while having my morning coffee. The kitchenette is actually functional too, not just for show, which is rare in places like this. Everything’s modern and clean, but they’ve managed to avoid that sterile chain hotel feel somehow.
Location Perks
Here’s what I discovered about staying on Calea Florești — you’re about a 15-minute walk from the main square, but you’re also right next to some of Cluj’s newer developments. There’s this great little bakery called Panemar just down the street that locals actually go to, not just tourists. The tram stops practically outside your door, and honestly, getting around the city couldn’t be easier from here.
Practical Details
Parking was way easier than I expected for this part of the city — they’ve got dedicated spots that you don’t have to fight other guests for. The building itself is secure, which matters when you’re staying in what’s essentially a residential tower. I mean, you’re sharing the building with actual residents, but that just adds to the authentic feel of staying here rather than in some tourist bubble.
