Sometimes the best surprises come in the simplest packages. This three-star spot might not have a fancy lobby, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about how everything’s set up — it feels like staying at a friend’s place who actually knows how to host properly.

The Space Itself

The room setup here is pretty smart, actually. Maya Apartment gives you that whole-place-to-yourself vibe without the usual apartment rental headaches. The kitchen area isn’t huge, but it’s got everything you’d need if you want to grab some local ingredients from the nearby markets and cook something up. I mean, after a few days of Romanian restaurant food (which is fantastic, don’t get me wrong), sometimes you just want to make your own coffee the way you like it.

Getting Around Cluj

Here’s the thing about this location — Strada Brâncoveanu isn’t right in the tourist center, but that’s actually kind of perfect. You’re close enough to walk to the main sights when you feel like it, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with crowds of tourists every time you step outside. The bus connections are solid, and honestly, Cluj isn’t that big anyway — everything feels walkable once you get your bearings.

The parking situation is sorted (which, if you’ve ever driven in Cluj, you know that’s not always a given), and the place just feels… well, lived-in in the best way.   We lived in this apartment for a week. The wonderful hostess provided very clear and understandable instructions on how to find an apartment, video instructions on how to find a parking space and even how to use a coffee machine 🥰. The house has everything you need and even more. We arrived late in the evening and there was a surprise waiting for us in the refrigerator in the form of small snacks and a breakfast snack. Alina was always in touch and herself offered to bring us warm blankets, since the weather had become cold. She was kind and brought us more coffee since we are coffee drinkers. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, we didn’t have to spend money and buy teas (there are different types in the kitchen), coffee, sugar, butter, muesli, cocoa, seasonings, salt and much more. In general, everything was there as if we had arrived home, even new sponges and dishwashing supplies. The bed was comfortable for us and we slept very well. The apartment is in a very quiet place, a cozy balcony. It felt like we were on vacation at a sanatorium! Every corner is furnished with great love and attention. There is a washing machine with a fast mode, everything you need for it. The location is very convenient, a 5-minute walk from shops, pharmacies, a market with vegetables, dairy and meat. A large mall supermarket is a 15-18 minute slow walk away. We are very pleased that we chose your wonderful home. Next time, only to you!

  Nice little appartment. Clean and modern with a nice balcony.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing especially just two minor remarks. Seems a bit pricey, but considering we booked it during Electric Castle festival, we were kind of expecting higher prices. Secondly, no privacy on the balcony of you'd like to drink the coffee in pyjamas, as it's right by the entrance in the appartment building.
