Walking up to My Place Central on Bulevardul 21 Decembrie 1989, you immediately get why this three-star hotel has such a stellar reputation. I mean, the location alone — you’re literally in the beating heart of Cluj-Napoca, and honestly, it doesn’t get much more central than this. The building itself has that understated charm that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something locals actually know about, rather than just another tourist trap.

The Perfect Spot

Here’s what I love about staying here — you can walk to pretty much everything that matters in Cluj. The old town is right there, and you know what? You’ll actually want to explore on foot because the streets around here tell the real story of the city. Couples seem to get this especially well (they’ve rated the location a perfect 10), and I can see why. There’s something romantic about being able to stroll to dinner without worrying about taxis or public transport, then maybe grab a late-night coffee at one of the nearby cafés that stay open past when they probably should.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d hope for from a well-run three-star place — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed without trying too hard. The beds are actually good (you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. What really impressed me was the attention to small details — decent lighting for reading, proper outlets where you need them, and windows that actually open if you want some fresh air instead of just AC.

Local Insights

The staff here genuinely knows Cluj, which makes a huge difference when you’re trying to figure out where to eat or what to see. They’re not just reciting from a script — they’ll tell you which restaurant around the corner serves the best mici, or when the farmers market is worth visiting. I actually ended up having some of my best meals based on their recommendations, places I never would have found wandering around on my own. The front desk folks speak English well enough that you won’t be playing charades to get what you need.

Look, this isn’t a place that’s trying to be something it’s not — it’s a solid, well-located hotel that does the basics really well. The 8.9 rating makes sense when you consider that location score of 9.8, because honestly, you’d pay twice as much for this kind of access in most European cities.   The apartment is located in a great spot. It is walking distance to the old town historic buildings, shops, and the park and stadium. The apartment was clean and spacious. The host was active and their communication was clear.

  What could be improved: The cleaning of the apartment was poor. We found dirty socks from previous clients, hair on the bathroom walls, food plastic package close to the bed and dirty cutlery.
  We contacted the reception and asked at some point for the room to be cleaned and the receptionist was rude and unhelpful.
  In the day of check out, they sent multiple messages asking if we can check out earlier that the official hour.
  
  Definitely not recommending it until they do a major improvement of their services.

  Totul la superlativ! Foarte curat, ingrijit, modern, echipat cu tot ce ai avea nevoie. E in centru, ajungi pe jos la cele mai importante obiective turistice. Gazda minunata, a raspuns prompt mereu. Recomand! Cu siguranta o sa revin.

  L’appartement se trouve en centre-ville, on peut facilement aller à pied au parc, au centre historique et faire les magasins.
