First Impressions

Moft Loft. Lovely, comfy apartment. sits on a quiet residential street in Cluj-Napoca, and honestly, you’d walk right past it if you weren’t looking. The building itself is unassuming — which I actually liked because it felt more like staying in a local neighborhood than a touristy area. When you step inside though, you realize this four-star place knows exactly what it’s doing.

The Space

The apartment is genuinely spacious, which surprised me given how compact some European accommodations can be. The room layout flows naturally — there’s a proper living area that doesn’t feel cramped, and the bedroom actually has enough space to open your suitcase without doing gymnastics around the bed. What I appreciated most was the full kitchen setup; I mean, you’ve got everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the nearby Carrefour and cook something simple.

Location & Getting Around

Strada Virgil Onițiu is perfectly positioned if you know Cluj at all. You’re about a 15-minute walk to the old town center, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with weekend noise from the bars on Strada Republicii. The tram stops nearby, and there’s decent parking on the street — though you know how it is with Romanian cities, sometimes you’ll circle the block a couple times.

Local Insights

What I loved about staying here is how it put me right in a residential part of Cluj where actual locals live. There’s a small grocery store two blocks away, and this little restaurant called La Cuptor that serves incredible mici — the kind of place you’d never find unless someone told you about it. The apartment’s location also means you can easily walk to Parcul Central when you need some green space, which honestly saved me during a particularly busy work week.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t trying to be fancy or impress anyone with marble lobbies. It’s just a really well-thought-out space that works. The Wi-Fi actually handles video calls without dropping, the shower has proper water pressure, and the bed is comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with a sore back. With a 9.6 rating, other guests clearly feel the same way — it delivers on the basics really well, plus gives you that authentic Cluj experience of living like a local for a few days.

  A wonderful apartment, thoughtfully decorated with great attention to detail. Everything was spotlessly clean, and we really enjoyed the access to the lovely garden. We were pleasantly surprised to find some welcome refreshments waiting for us in the fridge. Communication with the host was smooth and easy throughout our stay.
  
  What could be improved: The garden and villa is just few meters away from an appartment building but that was not really an issue as the hole neighborhood is very pleasant.

  Quiet location, still very close to the center, comfy beds, lovely patio, free parking next to the building, interior design and furniture to our taste, easy-to-communicate host, easy check-in.
  
  What could be improved: Would be good to have some racks in the bathroom to place things. Also it was a bit cold inside (+16) with +9 outside, while the heating was obviously off in mid-May.

  Communication was excellent with the hosts and they were super helpful. Apartment was clean, bright and beautifully furnished. It really feels like a home from home. The apartment is around the back of the building and away from the road and has great outdoor space. Location is great, plenty of on street parking and a walk in to town.I would highly recommend.

  Quite a fancy fad ("moft" in Romanian) for a city like Cluj so much known for its jokingly small sized, Japan style residences. Really loved the concept, the styling, the attention to details and on top the impeccable cleanliness. Above all Roxana, the host, knows how to add the cherry on top of the cake by dropping some small (yet really appreciated!) tokens of "Welcome!" in the house / fridge. For sure it didn't break the bank but what a difference such a gesture can make!
  
  What could be improved: I hate Cluj. Never understood and/or felt that city right. Of course this doesn't take away a dime from all the perks the Moft Lift offers and needs to be praised for.
