Here’s the thing about this neighborhood — it’s genuinely where locals live, not some sanitized hotel district. I mean, you’ll walk past actual Romanian families going about their day, small corner shops, and that kind of everyday life that makes travel feel real. The center of Cluj isn’t a quick walk, but honestly, the tram connections work well enough, and there’s parking available if you’re driving (which in Cluj’s old center can be… challenging, let’s say).

What Works Here

The apartment manages to nail that sweet spot between having your own space and still feeling like you’re traveling. I spent a couple of evenings just sitting by the window with a book and some wine from the local shop — something you can’t really do in a cramped hotel room. The Wi-Fi actually works properly, which seems basic but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong. Plus, the whole setup means you can keep your own schedule without worrying about breakfast times or housekeeping showing up at inconvenient moments.

  What could be improved: There are two closed doors inside the house and there was always noise coming from where one door was. It was like someone was in the house and it was disturbing. There was no kettle for tea. It would be very nice if there was.

  Checkin was easy and the host very responsive – solved immediately a small issue. Seems o be part of the restaurant, so food was 1 minute away and it was good. Also very quiet.

  The room was excellent, very big for three people who traveled. We had all the amenities, even espresso coffee to make in the morning. It is close to the river of the city and we went for a walk in the evening.
  
  What could be improved: The location made it difficult for us to find the accommodation as it is on a narrow street where there is a dead end nearby. Mainly what I didn't like is that because we traveled by motorbike, I had chosen the room to have a private parking. However, it did not have a private space and the owner showed us a place to park our bikes in a public space right outside the room. Not safe for motorcycles at all.

  The unit is cosy and pretty with quirky, interesting decorations and honestly exceeded my expectations.
