Oasului Residence sits quietly on Strada Oașului, and honestly, you might walk past it if you’re not paying attention — which is exactly what I love about it. This apartment-style hotel doesn’t scream for attention like some places do, but once you’re inside, you realize that’s completely intentional. The four-star property has this understated elegance that feels more like staying at a well-designed friend’s place than a typical hotel.

The Neighborhood

What’s great about this spot in Cluj-Napoca is that you’re actually in a residential area, so you get to see how locals really live. I mean, you’re not stuck in some touristy bubble — there’s a small grocery store around the corner, and I watched people walking their dogs in the morning like it was just another Tuesday. The city center is totally walkable from here, maybe 15 minutes if you don’t mind a pleasant stroll, and you know what? That distance is perfect because you escape the noise when you want to unwind.

The Space

These aren’t your standard hotel rooms — they’re proper apartments with everything you actually need. The kitchen setup is legit, not one of those sad mini-fridges with a hot plate situation. I found myself cooking breakfast a couple mornings because, well, why not? The living area flows nicely into the bedroom, and there’s enough space that you’re not tripping over your suitcase every five minutes. Plus, the Wi-Fi actually works everywhere (trust me, I tested it while video calling from the bathroom).

Daily Life

Here’s something I didn’t expect — the parking situation is actually sorted out, which if you’ve driven in Cluj-Napoca, you’ll know is kind of a miracle. The staff runs the place more like a boutique operation, so when you need something, you’re talking to people who actually know the building inside and out. They gave me restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots, and honestly, that local bakery they mentioned became my daily stop.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this place works because it doesn’t try too hard. You get the independence of having your own space, but with someone to call if the heating goes weird or you can’t figure out the TV remote. The 9-point rating makes total sense when you stay here — it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything just functions the way it should. After a day exploring Cluj’s cafes and that gorgeous Botanical Garden, coming back here feels like coming home, not like returning to some sterile hotel corridor.

  The apartment has 2 rooms, one of which has its own bathroom. There is a washing machine in the other bathroom. The terrace is very generous in terms of space. Well equipped open space kitchen including dishwasher. The location is very close to the Auchan store and Armătura Park is nearby. Medisproof Center at a distance of 5-10 minutes by car.
