When I first spotted Sofia Apartments on Strada Anton Pann, I wasn’t expecting much from the unassuming building facade. But honestly, this four-star property surprised me in the best way possible. The entrance feels more like stepping into a friend’s well-designed home than a typical hotel, and there’s something refreshing about that approach in Cluj-Napoca.

Location & Getting Around

You know what’s great about this spot? It’s tucked away on a quiet residential street, but you’re still within walking distance of the city center. I found myself strolling to the main square in about 15 minutes, passing local cafés and small shops that tourists rarely discover. The parking situation is actually manageable here — something that’s become a real headache in other parts of the city.

The Apartment Experience

Each apartment feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile, which I mean as a compliment. The kitchenette isn’t just for show — it’s properly equipped with everything you’d actually use, from decent cookware to a full-sized fridge. I appreciated having a real dining table where I could spread out my laptop and work, or just enjoy breakfast without perching on the bed.

Thoughtful Details

The staff here gets it — they’re around when you need them but don’t hover. I had questions about local transit and got genuinely helpful advice, not just printed directions. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building (trust me, I tested it), and the hot water pressure is consistently good. These might sound like basic things, but you’d be surprised how many places get them wrong.

  Very nicely done, modern apartment. Good location in a calm neighbourhood, approx. 20min walk to the Old Town. Underground parking place, big balcony, fully equipped kitchen. The place was very clean and what got my attention was very nice smell that you felt everytime you enter the apartment. There are shops and public transport nearby but the city center or old town can be easily reached by foot. There is a nice park just few minutes walk too.
  We had a very pleasant stay and recomment it to everybody.

  This apartment is fantastic! Very spacious, extremely modern furniture-wise, color-wise, equipment-wise, very tasteful design. All that’s needed is available in the apartment (towels, slippers, extra blanket, kitchen appliances, etc) Comfortable bed, enormous sofa, walk in shower. Contactless & easy check in/out. Would return if in Cluj again.

  A very cosy apartment, with an appearance of a 5 star hotel, located near to the city centre.
  The presentation on site is exactly as the reality: big, clean, nice neighbourhood, 10 min driving from old town.
  It offers a private underground parking.
  The rooms are big, clean, with all we needed. The kitchen is well equipped and the table is sensational.
  The living room has an enormous sofa, perfect for a lazy talk or cuddle.
  The host is very nice, it expected us with a cold water in the fridge and accepted our late check-out.

  Spacious, very well equipped apartment quite close to the city center, you can find there anything you can imagine to make your stay comfortable. Big advantage for us was the reserved parking space in the garage. Also the pizza place just few steps from the entrance was very good 🙂
