Walking up to this four-star property, you immediately sense it’s designed as a retreat from Cluj’s bustling energy. The building has this understated elegance — not flashy, but clearly thoughtful in every detail.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what I love about this spot? It’s tucked away enough to feel peaceful, but you’re still just a short walk from Cluj-Napoca’s main attractions. Strada Soporului is one of those residential streets where locals actually live, so you get a genuine feel for the city rather than being stuck in a touristy bubble. The Central Park is practically around the corner, and I found myself cutting through it most mornings — it’s actually faster than taking the main roads to reach the old town.

The Room Experience

My room was spacious in that way Romanian properties often surprise you with — high ceilings and windows that actually open wide (remember when hotels did that?). The design strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and local touches. What really impressed me was the attention to detail — proper blackout curtains, a desk that’s actually usable, and bathroom amenities that don’t feel like an afterthought.

Dining & Amenities

The restaurant downstairs serves both international dishes and Romanian classics, though I’ll be honest — I mostly stuck to the Romanian options because they do them really well. Their ciorbă de burtă was surprisingly authentic, which you don’t always find in hotel kitchens. There’s also a small wellness area with a sauna that’s perfect after walking around Cluj all day, especially during those chilly months.

Why Guests Love It

Here’s the thing about The Oasis — it gets the fundamentals right without trying too hard to impress. The staff genuinely knows Cluj and will point you toward places locals actually go, not just the obvious tourist spots. Parking is available on-site, which anyone who’s driven in Romanian cities will appreciate. With a 9.1 rating, it’s clear other travelers have noticed what I did: this place delivers exactly what it promises, just a bit better than you’d expect.

  I liked the vibe of the place and the area. Even if there is a lot of construction going on it is still piece full and quiet. The host was also prompt to reply if I had questions. Plus there is a park for recreation where you can do loads of activities and BBQs. Loved it!

  The curtains were really cool. Everything you need in a house, you can prepare any food, wash your clothes. Nice balcony and a quiet area. You have a bus that leaves 100m from the building. Responsive hosts and had a lot of small details that made the experience better (for example cotton swabs)
  
  What could be improved: They didn't give us capsules for the dishwasher and for the washing machine, no capsules for the coffee machine and just one pair of slippers.

  The property was very nice and quiet , besides of a lot of buildings around
  
  What could be improved: The flat is modern and equipped with all what u need ,the landlord make sure u enjoy u stay and is there for you if u need anything.
  The only want I can say is was an amazing house, definitely we would love to repeat next year .

  What could be improved: The appartment is a bit overused, the pictures from presentation are outdated: for example, there is no carpet in the living room, the fridge door is broken, you need to take care all the time to properly close the fridge.
  Toilet paper and trash bags were not available for one week stay.
  
  The location is outside the main road, near some construction sites.

  Great location, close to the mall. Lots of shops around. Apartment is lovely, clean and quiet so overall a good stay.
  
  The only downside was that the apartment was like a sauna. I stopped the radiator but heating still wouldn't stop.
  
  Frustrating that there was absolutely no communication/response about this issue throughout the whole stay.
  
  Very unclear instructions of where to leave the bin which was quite a hassle since the underground parking had 2 levels so was walking around everywhere to find a suitable place for it.
  
  Was told to enjoy the coffee but the coffee machine didn't match the pods left so couldn't use them.

  The flat itself was nice and beautifully decorated. Location is great if you have a car, which we did.Parking right in front of the building. The bed and sofa very comfortable and the design overall is enjoyable!
  
  What could be improved: We booked 4 nights of which one we added later and booked it directly with the host. When we were planning to check in we received a message that some other guests booked that night and we had to check in on the next day. The host somehow forgot about that extra night and didn’t bother to help us solve the issue. luckily some friends offered to host us for that night. Otherwise we had to sleep in our car. Very unpleasant, unprofessional and poor communication behalf of the host.
  When we checked in the other day the flat was missing disposable slippers, hand wash gel, shower gel, dishwasher gel, coffee pods – the basics a guest needs to have a pleasant stay/welcome. Moreover, all corners were full of spiders, we informed the host, on the next day some lady came to clean the flat but didn’t do a great job either.
  Also take notice of the fact that you won’t be able to stay at the terrace and enjoy a coffee there (at least not for now) because the whole area is under construction works and all balconies are dirty because of that.
