The Solstice Garden Suites caught me off guard in the best way possible. Tucked away in the Buna Ziua neighborhood of Cluj-Napoca, this three-star property doesn’t look like much from the outside — honestly, I walked past it twice before finding the entrance. But step inside, and you’ll understand why it’s pulling those 9.7 ratings from guests who actually know what they’re talking about.

Location & Neighborhood

Buna Ziua is one of those areas that locals love but tourists rarely stumble upon by accident. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the old town center, which I actually preferred — you get the residential feel without being stuck in the middle of nowhere. There’s a decent restaurant called Casa Boema just down the street, and a small grocery store that stays open late (trust me, you’ll need this information). The tram stop is close enough that getting around Cluj-Napoca becomes pretty straightforward once you figure out the system.

The Suite Experience

The word “suites” in the name isn’t just marketing fluff. Each unit feels more like a small apartment than a hotel room, with a separate living area that actually makes sense to use. The kitchenette comes equipped with everything you need for basic meal prep — and I mean everything, down to wine glasses and a proper coffee maker. The bedroom is spacious enough that you won’t trip over your suitcase every morning, which is more than I can say for most places in this price range.

What Sets It Apart

You know what really impressed me? The little details that someone clearly thought through. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the entire suite, the shower has decent water pressure, and there’s enough parking that you won’t spend twenty minutes circling the block. The staff speaks English well enough to have real conversations, not just the usual “yes, no, okay” responses you get at some places. They genuinely seem to care about whether you’re having a good experience.

After staying here, I get why The Solstice Garden Suites has such devoted fans. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — there’s no fancy spa or rooftop bar — but what it does offer works perfectly for travelers who want more than just a place to sleep. The value is exceptional for what you get, especially in a city where hotel prices have been climbing steadily. If you’re planning to spend more than two nights in Cluj-Napoca, this is the kind of place that makes you feel settled rather than just passing through.

  We had a one night stay at this apartment, we were welcomed with complimentary drinks and snacks , apartment smells perfect, very clean , quite zone close to center and mall , we had 10 min walk to our meeting in grand hotel italia
