But this four-star place surprised me right away. The lobby has this clean, modern feel without being sterile, and the staff actually remembered my name after the first conversation. You know what caught my attention? The way they’ve managed to create a sophisticated atmosphere while keeping things approachable.

The Location Game

Here’s the thing about staying on this particular stretch in Cluj-Napoca — you’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the tourist crowds to actually get some peace. I could walk to the old center in about fifteen minutes, which meant I avoided the overpriced restaurants right in the main square. The real win? There’s a decent parking situation here, which anyone who’s driven through Romanian city centers will tell you is basically a miracle.

The Room Experience

My room faced the street (hence the hotel’s name, I suppose), and while I was worried about noise, it was actually pretty quiet. The windows do their job well. The space itself felt bigger than expected — not cramped like some places I’ve stayed in the area. What I appreciated most was the attention to small details: proper reading lights, enough outlets where you actually need them, and a bathroom that doesn’t require you to be a contortionist to use the shower.

Daily Rhythms

Breakfast here isn’t going to blow your mind, but it gets the job done with local touches that I actually enjoyed. They had proper Romanian cheese and some regional specialties mixed in with the usual international fare. The restaurant area has good natural light, which made starting the day feel less institutional than at bigger chain hotels. I mean, there’s something to be said for a place where the coffee doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around since yesterday.

After staying here for several nights, I get why this place has such a high rating. It’s not trying to be something it isn’t — just solid hospitality in a city where that can be hit or miss. The staff knows Cluj-Napoca well and gave me restaurant recommendations that were actually good (not just the places that give them kickbacks). For travelers who want a reliable base without paying premium prices for unnecessary frills, Town View delivers exactly what you need. Sometimes that’s more valuable than all the fancy amenities in the world.

  Great apartment, equipped with everything you need, incl. an awesome, large terrace. Very quiet. It's located only within a few minutes from the city center. There's also an elevator in the building in case you have difficulty climbing the stairs or have large luggage. I can highly recommend this apartment for anyone planning to visit Cluj.

  Very close to the city center, but the apartment was very, very quiet, since it doesn't face the street. The terrace was simply lovely. Very comfortable bed and the apartment stayed cool despite the heat outside. Everything in the apartment looks just like in the pictures or a bit better.
  
  What could be improved: Just to be persnickety, since the place is very nearly perfect – we would have appreciated a few hangers/hooks in the bathroom and a tea towel in the kitchen.

  What could be improved: Masa si scaunele din bucatarie foarte incomode, dar ne-am descurcat destul de bine. telecomanda de la parcare a trebuit sa fie dusa la camera, timp in care intrarea la garaj a trebuit blocata de masina proprie.
