First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Urbio Private Suites, I’ll be honest — the building doesn’t scream “boutique hotel” from the outside. It’s tucked into a residential area on Alexandru Vaida Voevod street, and you might actually drive past it if you’re not paying attention. But that’s sort of the point, I think. This four-star property feels more like staying at a friend’s really nice place than checking into a traditional hotel, which is exactly what some travelers are looking for these days.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I love about the location — you’re in Cluj-Napoca but away from the tourist crowds that pack the Old Town. The neighborhood has this authentic Romanian vibe, with local cafés and small shops that you’d never find in a guidebook. I mean, couples consistently rate this spot a 9.1, and after spending time here, I get why. You can walk to the city center in about 15 minutes, or honestly, just grab a taxi since they’re pretty affordable in Cluj. The free parking on-site is actually a huge deal — trust me, finding parking in Romanian cities can be a nightmare.

The Suites

Each room here is basically a mini-apartment, which explains the “suites” in the name. The space I stayed in had a separate living area, a proper kitchen with full-size appliances, and a bedroom that felt more like home than a hotel. The design is clean and modern — think Scandinavian minimalism but with warmer touches. You know what really impressed me? The attention to small details, like quality coffee in the kitchen and blackout curtains that actually work. The bathroom was spacious too, with a rainfall shower that had excellent water pressure.

Daily Experience

Since these are private suites, there’s no traditional hotel restaurant or lobby scene — and that’s actually refreshing. You get your own space to decompress, cook if you want to, or just spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The staff is responsive but not hovering, which I appreciated. They’ll help you with recommendations or anything you need, but they respect that you’re here for the privacy and independence. The building is quiet too — I never heard neighbors or street noise, even though we’re in the city.

Why Guests Love It

Look, if you’re someone who wants room service and a concierge desk, this probably isn’t your place. But if you value space, privacy, and that home-away-from-home feeling, Urbio Private Suites really delivers. The 9.3 rating makes sense when you experience it — everything just works smoothly. Cluj-Napoca itself is underrated compared to Bucharest or Brasov, and staying here gives you a more authentic way to experience the city. Plus, having a kitchen means you can hit the local markets and actually cook with Romanian ingredients, which is something you can’t do in a regular hotel room.

  Nice kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms with balconies. There's no living room, but the kitchen had a 4 chair table so the space was good.

  Clean room with a balcony and everything else we needed, plus a nice, welcoming host. The pool and restaurant area will soon be open year-round. There are supermarkets and drugstores in the vicinity.
  
  What could be improved: For us, it was not a problem, but please keep in mind that some of the rooms have the shower cabin inside the room, not in the bathroom area.
