First Impressions

Walking up to Daan Apartments on Calea Dorobantilor, you wouldn’t expect much from the outside — it’s just another building on one of Cluj-Napoca’s busier streets. But honestly, that’s part of what I loved about this place. It feels like discovering a well-kept secret, and when you step inside, the three-star rating suddenly makes perfect sense. The lobby is clean and modern without trying too hard, and the staff actually remembers your name after the first day.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what’s great about staying here? You’re right in the thick of things without the tourist trap feeling. Calea Dorobantilor runs straight through the heart of the city, so you can walk to the old town in about fifteen minutes — I timed it. There’s a decent grocery store two blocks down, and I found this little bakery around the corner that does incredible cornetti in the mornings. The tram stop is literally outside your door, which saved me so much hassle getting around the city.

The Apartment Experience

Each apartment here is actually set up like a proper home away from home. Mine had this compact but fully functional kitchen with everything you’d need — I mean, I’m not much of a cook, but I managed to make decent coffee and even attempted some local cheese and bread for breakfast. The living area flows nicely into the bedroom, and there’s enough space that you don’t feel cramped even if you’re staying for a week or more.

Comfort & Amenities

The room itself was spotless, and I have to say, they’ve nailed the balance between functional and comfortable. The bed was firm (which I prefer), the Wi-Fi actually worked properly, and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that made me linger longer than I should have. There’s no fancy spa or anything like that, but sometimes you just want a place that does the basics really, really well. Parking is available too, though I’d recommend booking it in advance since street parking in this area can be a bit of a nightmare.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to blow your mind with over-the-top amenities, but that 9.6 rating isn’t an accident. It’s the kind of place where everything just works — the heating, the shower pressure, the location, the value. I’ve stayed in fancier places in Cluj-Napoca that left me more frustrated than impressed. Daan Apartments gets it right by focusing on what actually matters when you’re exploring a new city: a comfortable base that doesn’t break the bank and puts you right where you want to be.

  The room was spotless, and the host was excellent—sending me helpful information right away. The location was easy to find, and the facilities were outstanding. With the windows closed, the room was quiet, but opening them let in some road noise.
  
  What could be improved: I could get to the Old Town in about 3,000 steps, but it's only three bus stops away, so it's not very close. There wasn't much of interest nearby on the road I walked. The Visco Mattress wasn't for me.

  Multa liniste, studioul dispune de tot ce ai nevoie, are o curte mica unde iti poti bea cafeaua, gazda a fost extrem de amabil si saritor(va multumim foarte mult!), foarte aproape de un non stop, o covrigarie si o cafenea misto dar si de statia de autobuz; a fost fix ce am avut nevoie pe perioada Electric Castle💛

  Die Lage ist gut, die Innenstadt von Cluj Napoca ist zu Fuß erreichbar. In der Umgebung gibt es einige Restaurants, Cafés und Supermärkte.
  Das Appartement ist sehr schön eingerichtet und bietet viel komfort. Der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter war unkompliziert.
  
  What could be improved: Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt könnte die Austattung der Küche sein, die wichtigsten Utensilien sind aber vorhanden und kleine Mahlzeiten können zubereitet werden.
