Hotel Seven Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Seven, you immediately get that boutique hotel vibe — it’s sleek without trying too hard, and honestly, the lobby feels way more upscale than you’d expect from a three-star property. The staff behind the reception desk actually seemed genuinely pleased to see me, which isn’t always a given in Cluj-Napoca. There’s this modern design aesthetic throughout that feels fresh and current, though not in an intimidating way.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I really appreciated — Hotel Seven sits in a quieter residential area that’s still totally walkable to the city center. You’re on Gruia street, which means you get that local neighborhood feel without being stuck in the middle of nowhere. The old town is maybe a 15-minute walk, and honestly, it’s a pleasant stroll through some genuinely charming streets. I mean, you could grab a taxi or use the local transport, but walking gives you a better sense of the city’s rhythm.
The Room Experience
My room was surprisingly spacious — I’d actually booked expecting something cramped, but they’ve made smart use of the space. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d wrestled with it all night, and the bathroom had this rain shower that worked properly (you know how hotel showers can be hit or miss). What struck me was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, enough outlets where you actually need them, and blackout curtains that really work.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast setup isn’t huge, but it’s thoughtfully done. You’ve got your typical continental spread, plus some Romanian touches that feel authentic rather than touristy. The coffee was actually good — not that bitter hotel coffee that makes you wince. They don’t have a full restaurant on-site, but honestly, you’re in Cluj-Napoca where amazing local spots are everywhere within walking distance.
Why Guests Love It
What makes Hotel Seven work is that it gets the basics absolutely right without any fuss. The Wi-Fi actually functions throughout the building, the parking situation is sorted (which matters more than you might think in this part of the city), and the whole place feels clean and well-maintained. It’s not trying to be something it isn’t — just a solid, comfortable place to stay that lets you focus on exploring Cluj-Napoca rather than dealing with hotel hassles. For the price point, you’re getting genuine value rather than just budget accommodation.
Early hotels booking in Cluj-Napoca secures Electric Castle passes, jazz club nights, and private palinca-tasting sessions.

Great location between the railway station and the Citadel Hill. Aircon was excellent. We had big windows towatds the seven-way junction, but our room was sound-proof and we slept well. The neighbourhood was quiet, and the street towards city center offered an enjoyable walk.

We arrived late in the evening, we could choose breakfast time since we were the only guests. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
What could be improved: The lock in our room was not working smoothly, we had to ask for help at reception desk.
