When I first pulled up to Elania Resort & Spa on Strada Făgetului, honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a residential street in Cluj-Napoca. But then you see this stunning modern building emerge from the greenery, and it hits you — this five-star property is something special. The on-site restaurant serves this fantastic fusion of Romanian and international cuisine — I mean, their take on traditional ciorbă was incredible, and the wine selection showcased some excellent local vintages from the nearby Transylvanian vineyards. But honestly, the spa is where this place really shines. The treatment rooms are tucked away in this quiet wing, and after a deep tissue massage, I practically floated back to my room.

  Excellent overall, very clean, unbeatable price/quality ratio
  Large, bright bathroom with a large shower space and a heated floor.
  Thick carpet floor in the room.

  What could be improved: While friendly, the receptionist had a puzzling attitude when she noticed that we (a gay couple) had booked a double bed, as she asked multiple times whether it was ok and seemed surprised that we said it was.
  
  Also, we found it a bit strange to explicitly ask for an email address to send a newsletter when we checked out. While a minor point, this doesn't seem in line with standard practices in a 5-star hotel.
