Walking up to the third floor of a building on Strada Zorilor, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from 1 Neat Room Apartment ,35sqm, Zorilor Area. But honestly, the moment I stepped inside, I got it — this place lives up to its name. The 35 square meters are used so cleverly that it feels much more spacious than you’d think, and everything has its place. It’s one of those spots where you can tell someone really thought about how travelers actually live in a space, not just how it looks in photos.
Location & Neighborhood
The Zorilor area is actually one of Cluj-Napoca‘s best-kept secrets for visitors. You’re close enough to the city center that you can walk there in about 15 minutes, but far enough out that you get to experience how locals actually live. There’s a small grocery store just around the corner, and I found myself grabbing fresh bread there most mornings. The neighborhood has this residential vibe that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like you’re just staying at a friend’s place for a while.
The Space
This four-star apartment really maximizes every inch. The room serves multiple purposes without feeling cramped — there’s a comfortable sleeping area, a small dining spot, and even space to spread out your stuff. The kitchenette is compact but functional; I mean, you’re not going to cook elaborate meals here, but making coffee in the morning or heating up leftovers from one of Cluj’s great restaurants works perfectly fine. The bathroom is modern and clean, with good water pressure — something you don’t always get in older European buildings.
Practical Details
What I really appreciated was how well-equipped everything was. The WiFi actually works (and works well), there’s decent storage space for your clothes, and the heating keeps things comfortable even during cooler Romanian evenings. The building itself is quiet — I never had issues with noise from other residents or the street below. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area, but there are usually spots available on nearby streets if you’re driving. Public transport connections are solid too, with several bus lines running through Zorilor.
