First Impressions

Walking up to CLUJSTAYS Old Town View Studio, you know you’ve found something good. The building sits right on Strada Avram Iancu, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better if you tried. I mean, you’re literally steps from everything that makes Cluj-Napoca worth visiting, but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy or overwhelming.

The Studio Space

The room itself is exactly what you’d want from a four-star studio — thoughtfully designed without trying too hard. Everything feels deliberate, from the way the light hits the space to how they’ve maximized every square meter without making it feel cramped. The old town view they promise? Yeah, it’s actually there, and it’s pretty spectacular when the evening light hits those historic buildings.

What I really appreciated was the kitchen setup — it’s compact but totally functional. You know how some hotel kitchenettes are just for show? This one actually works. I found myself making coffee there every morning instead of hunting down cafés, which says something about how comfortable the space feels.

Location and Neighborhood

Here’s what nobody tells you about staying in Cluj-Napoca’s old town — you’re not just staying near the good stuff, you’re living in it. The main square is maybe a three-minute walk, but more importantly, you’re surrounded by those little streets that locals actually use. I’d step out for groceries and end up discovering some tiny restaurant that clearly wasn’t trying to impress tourists.

The area gets lively in the evenings, but it’s the right kind of lively — university students heading to dinner, people meeting friends at wine bars. It never felt unsafe or too rowdy, just… alive, you know?

Practical Matters

CLUJSTAYS really seems to have figured out the details that matter. The Wi-Fi actually works well (I was working remotely during part of my stay), and they’ve thought through things like having enough outlets in useful places. The shower pressure is solid, which honestly makes or breaks a place for me.

Getting around Cluj-Napoca from here is straightforward — you can walk to most places worth seeing, and when you can’t, transport connections are right there. I only used ride-sharing once the entire time, which kept costs down and made the whole trip feel more authentic.

Why Guests Love It

That 8.8 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it gets the fundamentals so right that you stop thinking about the accommodation and start enjoying the city. The old town views are genuinely beautiful, especially if you catch sunset from the window, and there’s something satisfying about having your own little space in the middle of everything.

  A very cosy and beautiful flat with everything I needed. Great location, right at the heart of the city centre and very quiet at the same time. The balcony is an asset, with a lovely view over the rooftops of the city. I had a great time there and will definitely come back.

  The flat is sufficiently big for a couple and more than enough for a solo traveller, with good usage of every available square metre. I really liked how quiet it was and the beautiful view to the old town. Sunsets in particular are unforgettable.
  
  The building and access to the flat are very charmingly Transylvanian: despite them not being 100 percent refurbished, i was perfectly happy with how authentic and "Altbau"-like it felt. This was in sync with the excellent location on the edge of the Altstadt

  Clean and cozy space. Very central. It was the perfect stay for a week in Cluj. It felt like a little home. Warm during the winter, no weird noises, comfortable bed.

  We liked everything about this studio – it's new, modern and very cozy. The location is ideal, very close to Unirii Square, the famous botanical gardens and very many nice restaurants. The terrace is especially great since it offers the best views over the city.
